Chapter 128: Domination and Reunion
"Hey, we're at a height of one thousand meters!"
Just as the words left his mouth, before Ye Sheng could even stop him, he watched Lu Mingfei leap straight off the back of the Clarke-Athena. Mid-air, the captain of the cleanup squad seemed to feel he wasn't fast enough. Crackling with electricity, utilizing the principle of potential difference to grant himself a mad acceleration, he plummeted straight down from the sky like a launched artillery shell.
Boom!
Like a missile strike, Lu Mingfei hit the ground at a blinding velocity of one thousand meters per second. A violent shockwave surged out instantly; the earth shattered, and countless fragments of rock blasted toward Caesar and Chen Motong like a barrage of bullets.
Waves of pain racked his entire body, and crimson blood burst out violently from within him. Before the battle had even officially begun, Lu Mingfei had already inflicted severe internal injuries upon himself. But—what did such a minor injury matter to him?
"Awesome!" Completely indifferent to the blood splattering everywhere, his golden eyes flared. Lu Mingfei looked at his own reflection in the red liquid suspended in mid-air and issued a command—Do not die!
As if time were reversing, the splattered blood was reabsorbed into his body, the damaged muscles repaired themselves automatically, and his entire skeletal structure instantly adjusted to the optimal state for combat.
The churned-up dust was violently parted as Caesar shot forward like a sharp arrow descending from the sky. The runes on Dictator gleamed with a faint light, an invisible domain expanding outward, adding even more force to this surprise attack.
The blade falling from the sky cleaved the air along with the sound. In the glow of the setting sun, his golden hair seemed to flash alongside the sun itself.
Right from the start, he unleashed the ultimate Current Driving: Three Hundred Thousand Volts. Caesar held nothing back; his strike was meant to kill.
Yet he was not the most lethal threat. Chen Motong's figure flickered in and out of the swirling dust. Enhanced by the same Current Driving: Three Hundred Thousand Volts, the gap between male and female was rendered almost negligible. Two crescent-shaped sabers spun in her hands, the deep black of their blades seeming to absorb even the sunlight, while an intense murderous intent locked firmly onto Lu Mingfei.
One high, one low; one front, one back. The seamlessly coordinated pair directly sealed off every possible evasion route for Lu Mingfei.
Yet, why would Lu Mingfei need to evade? His fighting style, damn it, had never had anything to do with evasion. Raising a hand and completely ignoring the razor-sharp Dictator, Lu Mingfei clenched his fist. Veins bulged on his left arm, and he threw a punch straight at the oncoming Dictator.
Current Driving: Three Hundred Thousand Volts: Killer Whale Hegemon Fist!
A simple, pure, direct punch, but it was fast enough, powerful enough!
Clang!
The direct collision forced Caesar to a dead stop mid-air, followed by a burst of intense sparks.
It didn't feel like flesh and steel clashing; Caesar distinctly felt a violent tremor pass through his hunting knife. Before he could even feel astonished that anyone's physical body could match an alchemical weapon, the resistance vanished instantly, and Dictator pierced straight through the fist that had just been holding its ground.
What is going on?
Caesar, who had never anticipated such a scenario, hesitated for an imperceptible fraction of a second—a fatal fraction.
Boom!
As if entirely unharmed, the fist—though split in two—smashed solidly into Caesar's face, completely blasting him away in an instant and fracturing even his skull.
Without a moment of hesitation, the instant he shattered Caesar, Lu Mingfei planted his left foot and whipped his right leg out with blinding speed.
It was still a very simple attack, yet fast enough, powerful enough, hard enough to catch Chen Motong, who had mistakenly thought she found an opening.
Damn It: Gender-Equality Kick!
A heavy footprint was deeply planted on Chen Motong's abdomen. A mouthful of blood spewed out, and the young girl was kicked soaring into the sky even faster than Caesar had been.
Bounding forward, Lu Mingfei casually snatched Dictator out of mid-air, a bloodthirsty smile spreading across his face—his compatibility with weapons wasn't particularly great, which was why he had never bothered to learn the Mumyo-Jinpuri-Ryu Killing Sword. But at a time like this, who needed a secret technique of that caliber?
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Slash! Slash! Slash!
Slash! Slash! Slash!
!
Within the span of a few seconds while both opponents had lost all ability to resist, Lu Mingfei delivered nearly a hundred cuts—a hundred full-power cuts enhanced by Current Driving: Three Hundred Thousand Volts!
When Lu Mingfei finally stopped, countless blade scars covered both of their bodies. Their specially crafted combat suits had been completely shredded into pieces, and deep, bone-revealing wounds were visible everywhere.
Boom!
The two of them slammed violently into the ground at a speed no slower than Lu Mingfei's initial descent. A massive amount of blood gushed out like it was worthless, and they completely lost the capacity to resist—no, by the looks of it, they were barely clinging to life.
"Damn it, this weapon really sucks to use." Such brutal treatment caused even the custom alchemical weapon to emit a mournful groan. Lu Mingfei disdainfully tossed the piece of junk aside, frowning as he looked down at the two figures on the ground who might kick the bucket at any second. "With just that pathetic level of strength, you dare challenge me, someone who possesses both the Asura Undying Body and the Complete Realm?"
"Stupid!"
Allowing his body to familiarly repair its own damage, Lu Mingfei frowned, squatted down, and peeled open their eyelids. "Do not die!"
Even Chu Zihany—or rather, Xia Mi—wouldn't have been able to tell which lineage or tier of Spiritual Speech had taken effect. Vitality that did not belong to Caesar or Chen Motong erupted within their bodies, finally dragging them back from the brink of death.
At that moment, the Clarke-Athena finally descended to the ground.
In less than ten seconds, these two opponents, theoretically on par with Lu Mingfei, had been utterly blasted apart. Perched on the dragon's back, Ye Sheng looked at Lu Mingfei—who was healing his bodily injuries at a visible rate—as if he were looking at an absolute monster, damn it.
It was only now that Ye Sheng realized when Lu Mingfei had previously said he was bringing him along on a cleanup mission to help him adapt, he actually meant it.
With this kind of combat power, unburdened by him, Lu Mingfei could have blasted those small fry—none of whom exceeded ten thousand volts at best—along with the fools they colluded with, straight into bloody ash in under three seconds.
"How is it? I told you there was nothing to worry about. Your captain has even slaughtered quite a few 2nd-generation and 3rd-generation dragons whose combat power isn't inferior to a Dragon King." Speaking casually, the Clarke-Athena dropped Ye Sheng down to the ground. "This guy's combat power in the Heavenly Realm is second only to those few, and his vitality is as exuberant as a monster's—even we dragons can't keep up. How could two little kids using Current Driving possibly beat your captain?"
"Still, Old Lu, can you drop this habit of shedding blood right at the start? Every time, no matter who you fight, you end up covering yourself in injuries." Pausing for a second, the Clarke-Athena added, "Don't get any ideas, I'm not worried about you—it's just that the stench of blood all over you is really foul."
"Can't change it." With a breath, the injuries on his body were practically healed. Lu Mingfei replied, "I'm used to it. Besides, feeling a bit of pain gives me a sense of reality."
"Captain, what should we do next?" Ye Sheng, finally adjusting his psychological state, ignored the Caskell Academy-specific combat uniforms on the two figures beneath him, silently recited a few mental mantras about them being enemies, and asked.
"What else can we do?" Lu Mingfei waved a hand. "Drag them aside. The real heavyweights are coming out now."
"Am I right, the strongest Dragon Slayer, Hilbert von Schtick?"
Following Lu Mingfei's words, the calm surface of the river was torn apart. Schtick, whose physique was muscular to a degree completely unfitting for a man of his age, walked out step by step with his upper body bare, dragging a completely dead dragon corpse with one hand.
Though it was flowing liquid, under Schtick's feet it felt like flat ground. Stuck into the fifteen-meter-long dragon corpse behind him was a short blade that looked only about as long as a forearm. A bronze bottle the size of a man and a long, imposing-looking case were strapped onto the volatile old man's body.
"What a hassle. I didn't expect to run into you here. Is it a coincidence?" Schtick greeted with a smile and a wave. "Long time no see, Lu Mingfei. Looks like you're doing well."
"Not bad, still kicking!" Lu Mingfei waved back in greeting. "At least I'll definitely outlive you..."
