Chapter 111: Common Challenges Faced by Pathfinders

Only a faint awareness remained as his source points poured out like a dam breaking, plummeting from four hundred to zero in an instant. Liu Tian could no longer recall the last time his source points had reset to zero. Ever since discovering that source points could refresh his status, he always reserved some for emergencies. But this time, he left himself no margin.
Before he could lament, Liu Tian felt as if he had endured a century of sleepless, relentless cultivation, sustained solely by electric currents. His will grew ever stronger and more resolute through ceaseless hardship. The magnetic field emanating from his body harmonized continuously with his determination, and his personal microcosm gradually conquered the surrounding greater world, culminating naturally in a breakthrough.
Once this breakthrough was complete, the forces that once hindered him ceased to be obstacles. The foundation built over a hundred years of grueling practice erupted explosively. At the moment the magnetic field spun into motion, Liu Tian’s power surged wildly, increasing by dozens of times.
From nowhere, a bolt of thunder materialized. The immense electric energy was instantly absorbed the moment it touched Liu Tian. A fiercely potent magnetic field, infused with his will, radiated outward at the speed of light, shattering the boundaries of this alien space. It was as if the entire cosmos emitted a piercing cry.
Simultaneously, regardless of nation or region, individuals endowed with exceptional aptitude, unwavering will, and vibrant desires suddenly discovered a new power — the force known as electric current propulsion.
This power appeared most commonly among the Heavenly Kingdom members who bore the divine blood of the Celestial Clan within Liu Tian’s body.
In an instant, this planet experienced its greatest evolution since the birth of the Black King.
“I feel something strange.”
Liu Tian lowered his gaze to his hands, gently grasping and releasing repeatedly. After a while, he turned toward Chu Zihang, whose complexion remained pale. He spread both hands, extending his left while placing his right over her mouth. Suddenly, cracks formed simultaneously in both hands, releasing a torrent of the Celestial Clan’s divine blood, potent with life force, bestowing upon the girl a final baptism.
To compensate for his own depletion, the remaining blood from the massive corpse nearby seemed drawn by some force, surging forth to Liu Tian’s left hand — the useless discarded, the useful absorbed.
Though the expenditure was immense, the residual blood in the towering body, hundreds of meters tall, equated to the full blood volume of dozens of ordinary humans. In this moment, Liu Tian became like a perpetual motion machine: absorbing with his left hand, releasing with his right.

In just three seconds, Liu Tian released a volume of blood equivalent to one-third of a normal human’s entire blood supply. Yet, despite such a great loss, he felt no weakness, merely calmly watching his blood, as if alive, merge into the girl’s body, integrating with her genes and enhancing her physical constitution.
At the same time, an electric current arose from Chu Zihang’s body — ten thousand, thirty thousand, fifty thousand, one hundred thousand, one hundred fifty thousand volts.
After all the blood was fully absorbed, Chu Zihang’s power had astonishingly reached electric current propulsion at 150,000 volts, with even greater potential latent within.
If Liu Tian hadn’t feared pushing her too quickly, potentially causing her to lose control over her perfected techniques, he was confident he could have raised her power to 500,000 volts at this prime moment.
“So fast, so strong. I’m not going to be a dragon anymore. Senior, you should baptize me too.”
“So fast, so strong. I’m not going to be a dragon anymore. Senior, you should baptize me too.”
The two voices spoke simultaneously — in fact, Liu Tian was slightly faster.
“Senior, you’re mimicking me,” *twice.
The same words echoed again. Summer, sensing something, exclaimed in surprise: “Mind reading?”
“Yes,” Liu Tian nodded, suddenly recalling something. “Try transforming into a dragon.”
“All right!” Knowing this was no time for jokes, Summer took a deep breath, and her body instantly mutated again — iron-blue scales surfaced beneath her skin, her hands and feet reshaped into sharp claws. Then she looked at Liu Tian expectantly.
Using the mind-reading ability he’d instinctively acquired once more, Liu Tian looked at Summer. But this time, he no longer felt as if he could read her thoughts clearly; even the simplest thoughts eluded him. Instead, he sensed two distinct desires — one to devour him, and the other a clear dependence.
“That’s enough.” Liu Tian turned off the mind-reading, which would otherwise take away much of his enjoyment.
At that moment, Chu Zihang, fully recovered, opened her eyes. She stepped away from Summer, standing straight with her right hand loosely clenched, but the familiar sword was nowhere to be seen. It had been completely destroyed just moments before.

This power?
Feeling clearly that she had gained a new strength, Chu Zihang instinctively tried to summon it, but Liu Tian interrupted her: “Don’t use it now. You won’t control it well and might tear your clothes. It’s time for us to leave.”
“Senior, what level have you reached now?” Summer obediently asked, not daring to inquire how Liu Tian had broken through so suddenly. “Let me think — mind reading, blood absorption for healing, at least a hundred thousand horsepower, right? You could survive a nuclear blast now.”
“I don’t know either.” Liu Tian frowned. A strong magnetic field arose, naturally lifting him off the ground. Then he lightly grasped his clothes, and the magnetic field’s rotation hardened the silk fabric to several times the strength of metal. “Molecular-level particle control, flight, absorption and transformation of animal blood for healing, material hardening, mind reading — theoretically, I should be at magnetic field rotation of at least a hundred thousand horsepower. But my magnetic field rotation resembles that of ‘Sea Tiger’ only superficially. At this level, my system feels far stronger than theirs. Whether I’ve truly reached a hundred thousand horsepower remains unknown, and my system’s ultimate limit might not be one million horsepower.”
As a pioneer, Liu Tian faced another problem — how to name and define stages of his own realm.
He pondered — recalling when he first broke through to the World King and reached electric current propulsion. Back then, inspired by his senior brother Bai Cinan, he had not removed his original naming rights, and the divisions were simple: just mark the level by the maximum voltage he could release.
But now, although he modeled his system after Sea Tiger’s, naming the realm “magnetic field rotation” was straightforward, yet how to divide its stages was unclear.
Opening the [Effort] panel, he found only a simple description: Heavenly Martial Dao Level 13, Effects: Full-body constitution enhancement (level 13), self-control (level 13).
Magnetic Field Rotation · ?? horsepower: Simple molecular particle manipulation, life force enhancement, life force absorption, mind reading, cannot upgrade or merge.
Clearly, as part of himself, [Effort] awaited him to define the realm.
Damn it, [Effort] was useless — couldn’t even define a realm for him.
“Decided. Since I’m a pioneer, what I say goes.” Tired of overthinking, Liu Tian made a blunt decision: “Simply put, my current realm is Magnetic Field Rotation · 130,000 horsepower, based on the magnetic field strength I can emit. It’s divided into thirteen levels, each level equals ten thousand horsepower. Future upgrades will follow this standard. Eventually, when I reach the end of this path, I’ll define the limit as one million horsepower and subdivide countless minor stages in between.”
“After all, every system follows this nonsense. The higher you go, the greater the difference between minor stages. I suspect they’re all the same as me, setting up these intricate divisions for no good reason.”
