Shaolin Supreme Techniques
Over the past days, Tang Xuan had been leading his group of women through countless dungeon runs, and everyone had reached level 30. The elite players from various gaming guilds were also gradually leveling up into the twenties, and the ordinary difficulty dungeons aboard the Eastern Sea were slowly being conquered by these advanced players in teams. Meanwhile, the majority of average players remained in the teens, toiling through the difficult and nightmare modes of the Black Wind Fortress dungeon.
Tang Xuan opened his attribute panel for a glance.

With his advancement to level 30, all his attributes had improved significantly once more. Now, his arsenal of martial arts included three additional Shaolin supreme techniques:
Arhat Divine Skill.
Great Bright Fist.
Mighty Diamond Palm.
Back when he descended the mountain with his master, Grandmaster Xuan Zhi, the pair first slew Li Mochou, earning merit. Then, at the martial arts tournament at Dasheng Pass, he defeated Huo Du and obtained the antidote, saving Zhu Ziliu, disciple of Master Yideng. He also bested Da’erba, bringing fame to Shaolin, and thus accumulated even more merit.
Such a bounty of merit was reported to the Discipline Institute by Grandmaster Xuan Zhi. After careful deliberation, the Discipline Institute granted him permission to pass on the two Shaolin supreme techniques he had mastered, the Arhat Divine Skill and the Great Bright Fist, to his disciple.
Furthermore, Tang Xuan was allowed to select an additional Shaolin supreme technique for himself. He chose the Mighty Diamond Palm, a forceful palm skill said to rival the famed Dragon Subduing Palm. In truth, he had a greater desire for the Indestructible Diamond Body Skill, but that particular Shaolin art was reserved for the heads of various institutes. Unless Tang Xuan one day rose to such a rank, even accumulated merit would not grant him access.
Other supreme arts, like the Dharma Eight Principles Divine Zen Staff, which only the abbot could study, had their own special requirements. Though he hadn't obtained his preferred Shaolin supreme skill, the Mighty Diamond Palm was far from lacking. More importantly, possessing the Arhat Divine Skill as his internal technique, and the formidable Great Bright Fist, was already a great boon.
First, the Arhat Divine Skill, once elevated to the mastered level:
[Arhat Divine Skill (Sixth-Grade Internal Technique) (Mastered)]
[One of Shaolin’s seventy-two supreme techniques, the specialty of the Arhat Hall. At advanced levels, it manifests the forms of five hundred Arhats.]
[Increases inner power by 3840, attack by 2400, defense by 1800, speed by 1800, and amplifies martial skill power by 120%.]
This sixth-grade internal technique far surpassed the fourth-grade Arhat Thousand-Weight Skill in terms of inner power increase, attribute boosts, and skill amplification.
At level 1, Arhat Thousand-Weight Skill grants 80 inner power, 150 attack, 100 defense, 80 speed, and 5% skill power increase.
At level 1, Arhat Divine Skill grants 320 inner power, 200 attack, 150 defense, 150 speed, and 10% skill power increase.
The gap between fourth and sixth grade was truly vast. Seventh-grade techniques, such as the Nine Yin Manual and Tendon-Changing Classic, were legendary, treasures of the martial world. The Purple Mist Divine Skill of the Huashan Sect and the Cold Ice True Qi of the Songshan Sect were merely fifth or sixth grade internal arts.
Arhat Divine Skill, as a sixth-grade internal technique, was already a rarity in the martial world. At mastered level, Arhat Thousand-Weight Skill only increased inner power by 960, whereas the Arhat Divine Skill boosted it by 3840! The former amplified skill power by 60% at mastered level, the latter by 120%. The increases in attack, defense, and speed were even more pronounced.
It could be said that, upon mastering the Arhat Divine Skill, Tang Xuan’s martial prowess had already surpassed that of his master, Grandmaster Xuan Zhi. The grandmaster, having brought his Arhat Thousand-Weight Skill to mastery and then advanced to the Arhat Divine Skill, only reached level four or five in that art, at best.
Such internal supreme techniques demanded years of diligent cultivation or rare treasures to advance each level. Originally, when Tang Xuan upgraded from Arhat Thousand-Weight Skill to Arhat Divine Skill, his skill level directly covered four or five levels, but as someone with extraordinary advantages, he brought the skill straight to mastery.
Besides Arhat Divine Skill, the Great Bright Fist and Mighty Diamond Palm were also sixth-grade supreme arts.
[Great Bright Fist (Sixth-Grade Fist Technique) (Mastered)]
[One of Shaolin’s seventy-two supreme techniques, honed in the Arhat Hall. This is the Buddhist art of demon-slaying, created by the Tathagata. The sutras say the Tathagata raised his golden arm, curled five fingers, forming the Bright Fist! In its early days, the Bright Fist shone with divine power and earned the title “First Fist Under Heaven.”]
[Increases attack by 480%. Each use consumes 20 inner power.]
This sixth-grade fist technique increases attack by 40% at level 1, and at mastered level, by a staggering 480%. Combined with the Arhat Divine Skill’s 120% amplification at mastery, the total reaches 600%. With Tang Xuan’s current attack power of 2820, unleashing this supreme technique would yield an attack of 19,740, nearly twenty thousand—a truly terrifying figure!
[Mighty Diamond Palm (Sixth-Grade Palm Technique) (Mastered)]
[One of Shaolin’s seventy-two supreme techniques, not easily mastered. Even in the talent-filled Shaolin Temple, only one person in a hundred years can achieve it.]
[Increases attack by 504%. Each use consumes 25 inner power.]
This sixth-grade palm technique, compared to the equally ranked Great Bright Fist, grants an even greater attack boost: 42% at level 1, and 504% at mastered level. In Northern Shaolin, Abbot Xuanci mastered this technique, allowing him to match Xiao Feng’s Dragon Subduing Palm blow for blow. Even against You Tanzhi, empowered by the Ice Silkworm Tendon-Changing Classic, Xuanci could defend with the Mighty Diamond Palm, easily neutralizing You Tanzhi’s ferocious assaults.
The Dragon Subduing Palm, praised by the Sweeper Monk as the most formidable palm technique, was both an internal and external art. Training its external techniques enhanced internal power as well. Ranked among seventh-grade supreme skills, it rivaled the Nine Yin Manual and Tendon-Changing Classic.
For gamers, mastering the Dragon Subduing Palm not only boosts attack power but also enhances attributes and internal skill levels, essentially functioning as a cheat. The Nine Yin Manual and Tendon-Changing Classic, if acquired, would also yield extraordinary, perhaps even greater, effects.
