Chapter 106: Issuing the Certificate

“You won?”
Everyone was stunned, what did that mean?
“Mr. Zhou, stop pouring the molten steel; it’s useless,” Chen Yun turned to Mr. Zhou and said, “Thanks for your trouble today. Here are 10 purple gold coins as my compensation.”
“Little brother, are you saying the electric bike has already been smelted?” Mr. Zhou asked.
“Smelted my foot. Just watch the molten steel yourselves after you finish pouring,” Chen Yun replied with a bitter smile. He hadn’t received a single system notification, so there was no way it had been smelted.
“What? No way. Molten steel at several thousand degrees can’t melt an electric bike?” Mr. Zhou was dumbfounded. He immediately ordered the valve to be opened again to pour the molten steel.
Once the pouring was done, everyone stared silently at the electric bike inside the steel pool, perfectly intact.
They couldn’t even describe their feelings at that moment. From the start when everyone was smashing the bike, they had been shocked, amazed, dumbfounded, and speechless. Now, they were strangely calm, as if the bike surviving unscathed was the normal outcome, and if it had really been smelted, that would have been the abnormality.
Exiting the factory gate, Chen Yun mounted the electric bike that had defied him to the very end and triumphed, then headed back to the city.
“To the future system owners, remember today’s lesson: you can’t go against the system. In the end, the only one who gets hurt is yourself,” Chen Yun muttered while walking, “Now I have only one path left—to become a mount recycler. But where on earth are there any mount recyclers?”
While riding, Chen Yun searched the mini-map and eventually fixed his gaze on a place outside the city marked by the system as a Universal Recycling Station—a scrap recycling center.
Though it was called a scrap recycling center, it was far from a center. It was a small farmhouse with two rooms and a yard where 90% of the open space was filled with all sorts of trash. Pushing his bike inside, a middle-aged woman came out and asked, “Young man, are you here to sell scrap? Where’s your scrap?”
Chen Yun said nothing but looked at the line of words above the woman’s head with tears in his eyes.
“NPC Fan Bingbing, Profession: Universal Recycler. Recycles consumables, items, equipment, mounts…”
Recycle mounts… recycle mounts… Oh, my goodness, I’ve finally found you!
“Young man, why are you crying?” Fan Bingbing looked at him in surprise, wondering what was wrong. Although she didn’t look great, she certainly didn’t think she could scare someone to tears.
“Oh, nothing. I’m just so happy to see you,” Chen Yun wiped his tears and said, “Auntie, I’m here to sell scrap.”
“I know. Those who come here either sell scrap or haul scrap. No exceptions. Where’s your scrap? Outside?” Fan Bingbing glanced at the bike basket and rear seat, which were cleaner than her own face.

“No, the scrap I’m selling is this electric bike.” Chen Yun pointed at the brand-new electric bike.
“What? Such a new electric bike… and you want to sell it as scrap?” Fan Bingbing was dumbstruck.
“Yes, as scrap. You can just give me one or two copper coins. If you think that’s too much, I’ll just give it to you for free.” Chen Yun patted the bike and praised it enthusiastically, “This bike doesn’t use electricity or fuel, it’s super durable, absolutely solid. How solid? Let me tell you, even the steel mill couldn’t do anything with it. I just came back from there…”
“...” Fan Bingbing watched Chen Yun babbling, growing more and more confused. When he said he threw the bike into molten steel and it was fine, she finally confirmed one thing: this guy was either an idiot or crazy. Absolutely!
“You crazy man, get out of here! I’m cooking inside and don’t have time to listen to your nonsense.” Fan Bingbing cut him off.
Chen Yun was stunned, then recalled what he’d just said. Damn, he’d gotten too excited and blurted everything out. No wonder she thought he was crazy.
“I’m leaving. I’ll leave the bike here as a gift for you to ride!”
“No thanks. I don’t want anything from a crazy person. Push it away, quickly push it away!” Seeing Chen Yun about to walk off, Fan Bingbing hurriedly grabbed him.
“Auntie, I’m not crazy. I really am here to sell scrap.” Chen Yun was frustrated at being called crazy over and over.
“You’re not crazy? Then who else would sell a brand-new electric bike as scrap and give it away for free? Who else but a crazy person would do that?” Fan Bingbing said, hands on hips.
“...” Chen Yun thought about it and realized she had a point. What he was doing was exactly something only a crazy person would do.
“Auntie, then tell me, what can I do to get you to accept this bike?” Chen Yun was at a loss. She wouldn’t take it for cheap or free. She was too principled. If it were someone else, they’d have happily accepted it by now.
“No matter what you say, I won’t accept it,” Fan Bingbing waved her hand, “I run my business with integrity—I don’t cheat kids, don’t cheat the elderly, and most of all, I don’t cheat crazy people. Push it away!”
“Auntie, how many times have I told you, I’m not crazy!” Chen Yun was losing his mind.
“Look at what you’re doing. Could a normal person do this?” Fan Bingbing sneered, “You say you’re not crazy, so how can you prove it?”
“...” Chen Yun slapped his forehead, red-eyed, looking at Fan Bingbing. “Auntie, if I can prove I’m not crazy, will you take the bike?”
Fan Bingbing laughed. She hadn’t expected that when she said it casually, this guy would actually try to prove he wasn’t crazy.
“Yes, if you can prove you’re not crazy, I’ll take this bike from you!”

“System notification: Player Chen Yun has triggered an immediate quest—prove that he is not crazy. Upon completion, he may visit NPC Universal Recycler to unbind the Level 2 Enhanced Mount from Player Chen Yun.”
“Alright, wait for me. I’ll get you that proof right away!”
City Hospital—Psychiatric Department.
“What did you say? You want a certificate? To prove you’re not crazy? Which ward are you in? Your condition must be serious.” The head of the psychiatric department looked at Chen Yun like he was an idiot, thinking that it was said about psychiatric patients being clever, but this was the first time he’d seen someone ask for a certificate proving they weren’t mentally ill.
“I won’t waste time talking. Here’s something practical.” Chen Yun threw down 10 gold coins. “Will you do it for 10 gold?”
The director was stunned. Damn!
Before he could react, Chen Yun threw another 10 gold coins on the table. “20!”
“I…”
“30!”
“No…”
“50!”
“You…”
“100!”
“I…”
“One purple gold coin! If you don’t agree, I’ll go to another hospital. I don’t believe no one can’t resist money!”
“Deal! I promise to do a perfect job from start to finish. If you’re not satisfied, you can stay here a while; no one will find a flaw!” The director was ecstatic. This was a windfall! Who wouldn’t want free money? Only a fool would refuse!
