Within the simulated forest scene of Tianye.

Stage four!

Boom!

Boom, boom...

The thunderous rumble surged like an army of thousands sweeping across the land. Countless green figures rushed forward, forming a relentless encirclement!

The primal beasts that had been foraging moments ago, upon glimpsing this vast horde, scattered in panic—some burrowing into their dens, others fleeing in the opposite direction. Among the fleeing beasts, even a few carried the powerful aura of the Void Realm.

Before long—

No sooner had the two departed than the charred remains of the Windhowl Wolf became the center of a teeming mass of green wolf shadows!

They packed the area so densely not a sliver of space remained...

Glowing green eyes, like fireflies in the night, lit the entire woodland in an emerald luminescence, transforming it into a boundless sea of green that blanketed the sky!

As the endless howls rang out!

Suddenly, at the heart of the swarm, a deep green wolf shadow radiating the supreme aura of the Upper Void Realm floated above the sea of green.

Awooo!

A thunderous roar shook the heavens, causing all the wolves below to bow their heads at once. The towering figure stood eight fathoms high, its massive head held proudly aloft; its emerald eyes glared like twin lanterns, sweeping over the pack below in a relentless patrol.

Wherever its piercing gaze fell, the wolves trembled in terror.

“Human, this is not a place you are permitted to tread!”

At that moment, the floating deep green wolf seemed to sense something, and its earth-shaking voice boomed out.

“What? An Archaic Beast of the Spirit Silence Realm?” gasped the shadowy figure hiding nearby.

Legends said that when a primal beast reached the Spirit Silence Realm, it would awaken intelligence, gain the power of speech, and transcend its kind to become an Archaic Beast. He hadn’t expected to encounter such a being!

What?

As he tried to flee, an overwhelming force of heaven and earth instantly pinned him in place, as though he’d fallen into a mire—utterly powerless and suffering.

“Senior, I am Li Heng, merely passing through—please, have mercy!” he begged from the shadows.

Though it thrilled him to meet such a transcendent beast, fear now held sway. His luck could not have been worse: he’d stumbled into a beast tide, led by the Windhowl Wolf King of the Void Realm. Who knew who had provoked them?

He cursed whoever had caused this chaos!

Yet he had no time to dwell on it, for the green tide below surged ever closer, leaving him trapped between advance and retreat.

“You killed my kin—all humans deserve death!”

The Wolf King ignored his pleas. With a wrathful howl, the bloodthirsty pack surged forward, eyes blazing with hatred, desperate to tear the figure in the tree to shreds.

“It wasn’t me who killed them—damn!” Perched atop the tree, watching the oncoming onslaught grow closer and larger, Li Heng pulled out his token and grumbled, “Damn it, what rotten luck—another three thousand primal stones wasted!”

No sooner had he spoken than, beneath the flurry of green wolf claws, his figure vanished in a flash of light!

Boom, boom, boom!

A barrage of savage attacks exploded in midair, instantly obliterating every tree for dozens of miles around, reducing the forest to splinters. Such ferocity would force even a Void Realm expert to retreat.

“Li Heng is eliminated. Nine hundred and ninety-nine participants remain!”

With his disappearance, an ancient voice echoed through the entire Tianye Forest.

Awooo!

As if expecting this result, the Windhowl Wolf King didn’t so much as glance back, but shot off in the direction of Tianming’s escape. His deep green eyes brimmed with murderous intent, and the energy of heaven and earth swirled around him, transforming into a streak of green that vanished into the horizon...

The wolf pack, seeing this, regrouped and formed another encirclement as they advanced in the Wolf King’s wake!

...

Meanwhile—

In a sparsely wooded valley beneath a mountain gorge, two figures—one silver-white, one crimson—were racing through a narrow winding path.

Whew!

Once he could no longer sense the beast tide behind them, Tianming finally let out a sigh of relief...

Yet he couldn’t help but feel a headache, regretting he hadn’t caught Qing Po’s last words.

To be safe, Tianming pushed himself even harder, channeling his colorless silver energy with all his might until he finally caught up to Chu Qingchen.

But now, Chu Qingchen had stopped in a clearing overgrown with weeds.

“Brother, that was pretty cold of you—couldn’t you have told me you were running?” Tianming couldn’t help but complain.

This guy had slipped away while he was distracted—if Tianming hadn’t reacted quickly, he’d have lost sight of Chu Qingchen altogether.

“You caught up, didn’t you? Besides, I’m not as strong as you—straight to the Ninth Grade of the Lingxu!” Rolling his eyes, Chu Qingchen sat down with a helpless shrug. “And you didn’t believe me anyway, did you?”

The situation had truly rattled Chu Qingchen; it was uncanny—one person’s abilities could be so overwhelming, it left him forgetting even the important matters!

“So, this is all my fault?” Tianming said, slightly abashed.

He’d hoped to show off his progress to Chu Qingchen, but luck had not been on his side!

Ah well.

“It’s my fault for not telling you earlier,” Chu Qingchen replied with a sigh. “Remember, in this stage, you can provoke anything—just don’t mess with the Windhowl Wolf!”

“Why?” Tianming asked in confusion.

“Because this is the Windhowl Wolf’s domain—the hardest part of stage four. With our strength, we can’t possibly defeat it. This round is a survival trial based on escape; many people who thought themselves strong have been eliminated for making too much noise.”

“Just like me?” Tianming said curiously.

“Exactly.”

At this, Chu Qingchen stood up and nodded.

“By the way, someone was just eliminated—must’ve gotten caught in the beast tide, right?” Tianming said with a hint of schadenfreude.

The voice just now had been Qing Po’s, but this time it was a public announcement!

“Most likely. Under normal circumstances, the wolf pack shouldn’t have been able to catch up to us—something must have delayed them. Still, we can’t let our guard down.” After a moment’s thought, Chu Qingchen spoke in a cautious whisper.

Mm!

“Let’s find somewhere to hide, then?” Tianming suggested.

Seeing how careful Chu Qingchen was, Tianming grew sober as well. No wonder Wang Sheng had said he’d only made it to the fourth stage; he hadn’t realized how unique this trial truly was!

“All right,” Chu Qingchen agreed with a nod.

Notes on content revisions:

Time passes swiftly, like water slipping away!

Unwittingly, it’s been over a month of updates—what a journey.

It’s no surprise that hardly anyone is reading; the sparse collection numbers make that clear enough... I know where I stand.

But when I look back on the earlier chapters now, I realize just how poor the content was—so bad I can barely stand to look. Honestly, even I want to scold myself: “What on earth was I writing? The style is so childish!”

It’s simply painful to read!

Ah well.

Still, the updates must go on—it has cost me much effort, after all.

And besides, this is my dream: to write a million-word novel.

So!

I have decided to make major revisions. Though no one is following the story now, I thought I should explain.

Some websites don’t update content in real time, so the older version may still appear elsewhere.

Regardless of readership, I will revise it—out of respect for this work.

Also, you are welcome to search 17k Novel Network to read my official, free novel—thank you!

These revisions will be completed within the next two days.

Note: As supplementary content will not update on other sites, I can only append this to the main text!
