Time flies like a white horse galloping past a crevice; days slip away in the blink of an eye.

Unknowingly, after more than a hundred days of hard work, this novel is finally set to be published and move behind a paywall tomorrow. The moment has arrived for the value of this story to be truly tested.

Because this is a slow-burn novel, the beginning is quite plain and filled with filler. In truth, this is merely a result of my own lack of literary skill—I rushed into writing without any proper preparation, and for that, I am deeply ashamed.

Furthermore, I fully understand why readers turn to pirated versions, as I was once one of them myself. However, because I have modified the opening chapters so many times, pirated sites do not update in real-time. Consequently, they are riddled with errors, so I sincerely ask that you read the official version.

Additionally, as this novel’s popularity is quite low, I have been walking on thin ice. It is frustrating to see authors who write very little content yet constantly run advertisements garner so much popularity. However, I will not follow the crowd. I believe that a good work will find its audience even without advertising, while a poor work will ultimately remain mediocre, no matter how much it is promoted.

Honestly, even I did not believe that I could persist to three hundred thousand words without any support. Although I have sacrificed much, I have also benefited immensely. As Xunzi once said, "Learning should never cease." A person’s life is a process of constant learning and self-improvement. Gradually, I have discovered that my writing has improved compared to what I produced before. While it may not yet be worthy of high praise, it has certainly not been in vain.

I believe that in the future, I will strive even harder to perfect every single aspect of this novel.
