This book will be officially released tomorrow.
This book will be officially published tomorrow, which means that starting from tomorrow, all new chapters will be behind a paywall.
I received the notification when I woke up today. It was a bit of a surprise, though within reasonable expectations, yet I cannot help but feel a little anxious.
As for why it is moving to a paid model, this is an inevitable stage for every book, whether it is a flop or a bestseller. Besides, do you really expect me to write while starving on nothing but thin air?
Writing this book up to this point, there have certainly been some shortcomings. However, I believe that those who have endured the various flaws and read this far are, for the most part, loyal readers. Even if not, we are at least like-minded individuals.
In any case, regardless of how things went before, now that it is a paid work, I will certainly invest more energy into it—at the very least, I must make it worth the five cents per thousand words you spend.
After the transition to paid, it is very likely that a large portion of the readership will be lost—either moving to pirated sites or simply stopping altogether. That is your freedom, and I cannot stop you, but I do hope that those who are able to will do their best to support the original version.
Currently, this book has 3,008 followers on Qidian, 27,000 on QQ Reading (Genesis), and 8,319 on the QQ Browser Reading Center. Judging by these numbers, the book is actually doing quite well, aside from the slightly lackluster performance on Qidian. However, since the book was first released on Qidian, the poor data there naturally means a lack of promotional support, and so this launch will be a "naked" one—without any featured placement.
Furthermore, the Primordial genre is already a niche, and this book takes a rather subversive approach, effectively turning away a segment of readers who enjoy traditional Primordial stories. Therefore, I truly hope that those who can subscribe will provide their support; otherwise, this book might truly end up a failure.
Regarding the update schedule, I have consistently maintained two chapters a day, rain or shine. It was only in the last few days that I felt discouraged by the wave of negative reviews on the Qidian comment section. Coupled with a lack of motivation and the need to plot out the "Investiture of the Gods" arc, I only managed one chapter each for the past two days.
In fact, I originally intended to post two chapters today, but since the official launch is tomorrow, I will save the next chapter for after midnight. Ahem, in truth, I haven't even started writing the next chapter yet.
Moving forward, I lack the confidence to promise three chapters a day, so I will stick to two. When I am in a good state, I will try to update more. That is all.
Finally, for those who have read this far, I hope you will join the reader group. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to bring them up there. The group number is 120597666.
That is all.
