Thoughts on the Release (Reflections on Previous and New Works)

Hello everyone, I am Buyi.
I can still vaguely recall the feelings of anxiety and anticipation I had five years ago when “The Strongest Anti-Routine System” was launched.
I feel fortunate that, in that year, the story of “Xu Que, Er Gouzi, and Duan Jiude” managed to win the love of every single one of you, the dear members of the Bombastic Gang.
In those days, the name of the Bombastic Gang echoed throughout the entire online literature community.
From beginning to end, I have always been deeply grateful to every reader, and have constantly racked my brains to think of plots that would bring you joy and repay your support.
At the start, when I was writing the stories of the “Shameless Dog” trio, I was having a great time myself.
But as time went on, I hit a bottleneck. The witty and humorous routines were gradually exhausted.
I tried hard not to repeat myself, straining to come up with ever more interesting jokes. As time dragged on, the pressure mounted.
Five years ago, I was twenty-three, but after three years, when I was twenty-six, large patches of my hair at the back of my head turned white.
I thought something was seriously wrong, so I checked it out. It turned out to be overexertion of the mind, with a touch of mild depression.
Still, I got through it, and even posted a single chapter back then, announcing with high spirits that I was back.
Yet two days later, I suffered a huge blow in my life—what happened is in the past, so I won’t dwell on it.
After that, my condition slumped again, and updates became sporadic—once every two or three days.
When I finally managed to adjust and pull myself out of that low point, and resumed updating for just a few days, another blow from the online literature circle hit.
The entire book was directly blocked and ordered for revision.
The word “vulgar” was an all-purpose reason; hundreds of chapters were labeled “vulgar” and demanded to be revised.
The revisions drove me to the brink; it was as if all the fun jokes in the whole book were erased.
The characters lost their charm, the plot became bizarre. As I revised, I found myself unable to go on.
Eventually, after much effort, the majority was revised and the book was released again. I resumed updating, but by then the performance had plummeted, and I was plagued by the mess I’d made of earlier chapters. My state was very poor.

To this day, there are still many people on my Douyin, Weibo, and public WeChat account asking me when I’ll update.
I dare not reply. Sometimes I try quietly to update, but in 24 hours, only a few hundred people subscribe.
Maybe everyone has moved on, which I think is perfectly normal—there are so many good books out there, why should you keep following mine?
Over these past two years, I have hesitated again and again about whether to start a new book.
But I still can’t let go of Xu Que and their story, so whether it’s for myself or for the few hundred readers who still follow along, I will finish “The Strongest Anti-Routine System.”
It will definitely be completed within 2021.
And rest assured, it won’t be a rushed and botched ending—if it were going to end that way, I would have wrapped it up half-heartedly long ago.
Now, let me talk about my new book, “The Last Innocent in the Cultivation World.”
I actually prepared a lot for this book. Under the advice of my chief editor, Master Bei He, I revised the opening many times. In the end, he still advised me not to use this opening, saying the pace was too slow, haha, but I insisted.
And he was right—many readers complained the opening wasn’t engaging, and that is indeed my fault.
But I was somewhat mentally prepared and expected this outcome.
Still, it’s fine.
When I wrote “The Strongest Anti-Routine System,” my goal was always to bring you happiness and laughter. As long as one or two plotlines made you laugh out loud, my efforts weren’t in vain.
Back then, your “hahaha” comments made me feel recognized and gave me great motivation.
But now, with this new book “The Last Innocent in the Cultivation World,” I wish more to express some stories and ideas from my heart.
I chose a cheeky title and wrote seemingly cheeky plots just as a wrapper for what I want to convey, so that everyone can keep reading.
Maybe because I mixed in more personal stuff, the plot pace slowed down. Everyone says the opening is bland, which actually matches my current state of mind—things really are quite bland.
I’m writing this post for the launch mainly to give those still following me a simple account of my journey from the old book to this new one.
Since the new book began, all I’ve asked for are recommendation and monthly votes—both are free.
I’ve never asked for rewards, because this book is mostly for my own peace of mind, and I have no reason to ask you to pay for it.

Today is Friday. After noon, at 12 o’clock, the new book will be officially launched.
I can already predict how miserable the results will be. Let me say this with conviction: it definitely won’t surpass three thousand initial subscriptions, maybe not even two thousand.
But I heard that now, in the Qidian app chapters, there’s a red envelope in the bottom right corner that gives you fifteen coins for watching an ad, and it seems you can collect over a hundred coins a day.
So let me ask you:
Is that all right?
Can you collect some Qidian coins and subscribe for a round?
So that when the results come out, I won’t be too embarrassed, haha.
And if you have monthly votes, please help cast a few—let’s try to make it into the top ten of the new book monthly rankings.
Finally, let me update you again: the old book, “The Strongest Anti-Routine System,” will gradually resume updates after the New Year, and will definitely be completed before 2022.
If you enjoy the new book, please support it as well by subscribing on Qidian.
…
(PS: After some thought, let’s set a goal to strive for.
If, on the Qidian platform, this new book can break five thousand initial subscriptions, or make it into the top three of the new book monthly rankings, I’ll do my utmost to resume daily updates on the old book.
If it breaks eight thousand (I’m dreaming here), I can manage two chapters a day.
If it breaks ten thousand (still dreaming), that’s the limit—two chapters a day at most.
Of course, if everyone is more interested in the new book, I can shift the extra updates there.
All right, that’s enough boasting. Although I feel it’s unlikely we’ll reach five thousand, I still wanted to write this out. Regardless of whether we reach the goal, I will finish the anti-routine story within this year.
Finally, salute to you all!)
