Chapter 29: A Man’s Words Are Nothing but Lies!
Today, Jiang Yunqi had chosen a style that was both sultry and innocent. On top, she wore a fitted tank top with a built-in bra, accentuating her curves and lifting her chest high. The sides of her waist were cut out, leaving only a strip of material that extended down into her jeans, evoking all sorts of tantalizing thoughts. This outfit, paired with her head-turning cherry blossom pink hair, made her look like a sweet, wild little filly—impossible for any man to resist.
But at this moment, Chu Fei had no time to appreciate such things. He was beginning to worry that Jiang Yunqi might just scare him into falling ill.
Admittedly, he had intended to let her experience a sense of emotional whiplash. Yet, as the act went on, he found himself drawn to Guan Ya as well.
—Only children make choices; adults want it all.
What he hadn't expected was how quickly Jiang Yunqi would get caught up in the moment, chasing him straight into the bathroom. Showing her cards so soon—her rank was clearly not that high.
To be fair, Jiang Yunqi had always given off the vibe of a heartbreaker, with no shortage of admirers. But unlike most, she had never been in a relationship, nor had she ever flirted with anyone.
Chu Fei’s tactics were unlike those of the usual sycophants she encountered. Combined with the effects of alcohol, it was no wonder this love-struck heartbreaker had impulsively come to confront him, wanting to demand an explanation for his behavior.
Yet before she could speak, Chu Fei struck first. “What are you doing, coming at me with that pink hair? You scared me, you know that?”
Jiang Yunqi’s face fell, a look of grievance crossing her features. No boy had ever dared shout at her before. She couldn’t stand it and retorted immediately, “What’s with your attitude? Why are you so fierce?”
“Have you never heard of emotional castration? You have to take full responsibility for this!” Chu Fei replied, spouting nonsense with a straight face.
Jiang Yunqi knew she wasn’t completely in the right, and her eyes darted instinctively to a certain part of Chu Fei. “Then, are you okay?”
“Why not find out for yourself?” With that, Chu Fei seized the upper hand, pinning her hands against the wall before she could react, and pressed a domineering kiss to her lips.
Jiang Yunqi’s mind went blank. Was this really how she lost her first kiss? But it didn’t stop there; Chu Fei’s right hand wandered upward. The jolt of sensation finally snapped her back to herself.
She shoved him away, gasping, “What are you doing?!”
“Testing to see if everything’s still working,” Chu Fei replied, wiping his lips and savoring the moment. “Good thing it’s all fine, or I’d have to go down with you!”
Jiang Yunqi was fuming, but his words caught her off guard.
“By the way,” Chu Fei teased, “you’re pretty good at panting—have you trained for it, or is it just your natural voice?”
Jiang Yunqi’s chest heaved with anger. She glared at him. “Can you not be so disgusting? What do you mean, ‘trained’? I haven’t trained for anything!”
“No training? Perfect, let me show you how it’s done,” Chu Fei said, moving in again, shameless as ever.
Jiang Yunqi was so startled she grabbed his face and pushed it back, two fingers jabbing into his nostrils. “Why are you acting like a randy little dog? Keep this up and I’ll scream for help!”
“Go ahead, I don’t care. But you—if Guan Ya and the others find out you came to the bathroom to assault me, how do you think they’ll spin the story?” Chu Fei stood his ground, unphased.
Realizing she couldn’t stop him, Jiang Yunqi blurted out, “Do you like me, Chu Fei?!”
Chu Fei halted, stepping back to look at her. “Let’s not make a scene. We’ve only met twice; do I seem like the kind of guy who’s that casual?”
“Exactly! When you act casual, you’re not even a person—you’re just a scumbag!” she shot back.
Chu Fei bristled. “How can something so cold come from a mouth that’s thirty-seven degrees?”
“Isn’t it true? If you liked me, you wouldn’t get all flirty with Guan Ya right in front of me! And if you don’t like me, how could you kiss me and touch my chest? What does that make you, if not a scumbag?”
“So, in your eyes, I’m nothing but a filthy person?” Chu Fei sighed in disappointment and reached for the bathroom door.
Seeing this, Jiang Yunqi hurriedly grabbed his hand. “Then explain yourself…”
But Chu Fei shook her off. “Don’t touch me—don’t dirty your hands.”
“Chu Fei, I…” Jiang Yunqi faltered, lost for words.
Chu Fei cut her off again. “Jiang Yunqi, who do you think I’ve been doing all this for? I just wanted to get on good terms with your roommates, hoping they’d say nice things about me to you. And now, you come at me like this—do you have any idea how much that hurts?”
Jiang Yunqi was stunned. “What? Is that it? I had no idea…”
“Of course you didn’t. To you, I’m already a scumbag. Prejudice is a mountain; no matter how hard you try, you can’t move it. So why bother? Let’s not stay in touch anymore.”
Pretending to open the door, Chu Fei thought inwardly—Come on, stop me.
As expected, Jiang Yunqi grabbed him again. “So everything you did was for me?”
“No, it’s just me being pathetic,” Chu Fei replied, putting on his best tragic actor’s performance.
The more he denied it, the more Jiang Yunqi believed him. That’s just how women are.
Completely convinced, Jiang Yunqi clung to his hand. “I’m sorry, I misunderstood you. I don’t deserve forgiveness.”
“It’s fine. I just don’t want you and your friends to fall out because of me.” Chu Fei seized the opportunity, gazing at her with a look of sorrowful affection. “True sisters should always stick together.”
Jiang Yunqi nodded. “Chu Fei, I understand now. I really overreacted tonight. I sincerely apologize.”
“Just a verbal apology?” Chu Fei slipped back into his roguish demeanor, smearing his hand across her lips.
Jiang Yunqi knew exactly how wicked his words were, but she didn’t know how to respond.
As her mind spun with wild thoughts, her phone suddenly rang—it was Roman calling.
She quickly answered, and Roman’s anxious voice came through.
“Kiki, where are you? Guan Guan’s in trouble—bring Chu Fei and come, quick!”
