It was not just Qi Yushu who understood Chu Fei’s intentions now; even Qi Wenshan suddenly realized why Chu Fei, who could have easily dealt the killing blow himself, had insisted on calling him.

The purpose was to force him to kill his own son with his own hands, thereby utterly shattering Qi Yushu’s mind before his death.

Even Song Yalan and Guan Ya were shocked by Chu Fei’s words. They knew he often played by his own rules, but they never imagined he would simply flip the entire table. He was leaving absolutely no room for himself or the Qi family to retreat—not even a sliver.

"You're insane!" Qi Xueqing burst out in a rage. "Demanding that only one of them survives? Your request is nothing but bullying!"

In her eyes, her grandfather had already bowed his head to Chu Fei, which was already a significant concession. Chu Fei should have stepped down from his high horse, not pushed his luck further.

"Bullying?" Chu Fei sneered. "That’s a fine word to use. Does Qi Yushu killing a husband and attempting to violate a mother and daughter count as bullying?"

Qi Xueqing was silenced, unable to retort. She knew deep down that her uncle had gone too far, but as a member of the Qi family, she had to defend her own.

"Even so..." she gritted her teeth. "Grandfather was already planning to hand him over to the Martial Law Bureau for prosecution. Isn't that justice for them?!" She glared at him. "You’ve already got that, what more could you possibly want?"

Chu Fei was blunt: "I want him dead. That is all."

Left with no other choice, Qi Xueqing stepped aside and dialed Meng Ziyi’s number. She was the only one who could save the Qi family now; they were completely unable to reason with this madman, Chu Fei.

Chu Fei did not stop her. He merely looked at Qi Wenshan, waiting for his final decision.

"Still not kneeling to beg this young man for your life!" Seeing that Chu Fei was unmoved, Qi Wenshan barked at Qi Yushu, hoping that a plea for mercy might soften Chu Fei’s heart.

Qi Yushu was indignant, but he knew there was no other way. Swallowing his humiliation, he called out to Chu Fei, "I know I was wrong. I am sorry for what I’ve done. Please, spare me!"

"Young man, you see, he has apologized..." Qi Wenshan pleaded helplessly. "As long as you show mercy this once, our Qi family will surely provide sufficient compensation to the mother and daughter!"

"Miss Song, please, forgive us and put in a good word for us!"

This was the first time the proud members of the Qi family had ever lowered their heads before Song Yalan. It was a sight she could never have imagined, yet tonight, because of Chu Fei, this absurd scene had come to pass.

"Is an apology enough?" emboldened by Chu Fei’s backing, Song Yalan retorted, "He must suffer as I have suffered—only then will it be an apology!"

Though her words were a bit like a fox pretending to be a tiger, they were truly how she felt. Given the atrocities Qi Yushu had committed, this was the price he deserved to pay.

"Grandfather, don't beg him. I’ve already called Sister Meng!" Qi Xueqing handed the phone to Chu Fei. "Sister Meng has something to say to you."

Chu Fei took the phone and put it on speaker. Meng Ziyi’s voice came through immediately: "Man, give me one reason why Qi Yushu must die."

"Fine. Since you’ve asked, Third Senior Sister, I’ll give them a reason why he must be killed."

With that, Chu Fei pulled a medicine bottle from his pocket and tossed it at Qi Wenshan’s feet.

Qi Wenshan frowned. "What is this?"

"This was found on that idiot," Chu Fei narrowed his eyes. "It’s Heart-Devouring Poison, the exact same toxin as the one inside you. It is a slow-acting poison, and only those closest to you would have the consistent opportunity to administer it. I don’t think I need to explain further; surely, a man of your intellect can figure out what is going on?"

The moment those words were spoken, not only did Meng Ziyi go silent on the other end of the line, but Qi Wenshan and Qi Xueqing stared at each other in utter disbelief.

"Dad, he’s slandering me! He’s slandering me!" Qi Yushu shrieked in panic.

"Is... is this true?" Qi Wenshan looked at Chu Fei, his eyes bloodshot.

Chu Fei was nonchalant. "Your lives are in my hands. Do you really think I need to lie to you?"

Qi Wenshan was no fool; he knew that in this situation, Chu Fei had no reason to deceive him.

Meng Ziyi spoke up then: "Elder Qi, this is your family business, and I have no right to interfere. But I can stake my reputation on the fact that my junior brother never lies..."

After hearing Meng Ziyi’s words, Qi Wenshan walked toward Qi Yushu with a grim expression. Qi Yushu stood frozen, staring at his father’s murderous gaze, realizing that his father believed the accusation. The weight of that despair shattered his composure completely.

"Dad, what are you doing? I’m your son! You’d believe an outsider over me? How could I possibly poison you—!"

*Bang!*

Qi Wenshan struck Qi Yushu’s head with a single palm. Qi Yushu collapsed to the ground, blood streaming from his seven orifices, dead with his eyes wide open.

Watching this, Song Yalan and Guan Ya felt no sympathy, only a sense of catharsis.

Qi Xueqing looked at her uncle’s corpse, her voice trembling with grief. "Grandfather..."

"Shut up! Do you really think he was giving us a choice?" Qi Wenshan snapped. "Besides, a man so unfilial and unloyal deserves to die. Tonight, I have simply purged the Qi family of its filth!"

Qi Xueqing had nothing left to say, her eyes red with unshed tears. After killing Qi Yushu, Qi Wenshan turned to Chu Fei with a blank expression. "Young man, are you satisfied now?"

"Elder Qi is truly a man of great righteousness!"

Chu Fei’s remark nearly caused Qi Wenshan to cough up a mouthful of blood. But in order to get cured, he could only say, "Then, my poison... I leave it to you, young man."

"That’s easy enough. Come, Elder Qi, stand a little closer."

Qi Wenshan, suspecting nothing, leaned in. He expected some form of acupuncture or treatment, but instead, Chu Fei raised his hand and slapped him directly across the face, sending the old man flying through the air!

Seeing her grandfather struck, Qi Xueqing cried out indignantly, "I thought you were going to cure him! Why are you hitting him?!"

Chu Fei wiped his hands calmly and looked at the distant Qi Wenshan, who was currently vomiting blood. "How do you feel, Elder Qi?"

After coughing up the stagnant blood, Qi Wenshan felt a sudden lightness throughout his body; the pain in his chest had vanished.

"The poison... it's been purged!" Qi Wenshan stood up and bowed gratefully to Chu Fei. "Thank you, young man. Not only did you cure me, but you also showed me the true colors of that ungrateful wretch. Such a great kindness..."

"That’s enough. If it weren't for the sake of my Third Senior Sister, I wouldn't have bothered wasting my breath on you." Chu Fei waved his hand, signaling for them to get lost.

Qi Xueqing hurriedly helped Qi Wenshan up and left with Qi Yushu’s body. Once they were gone, Song Yalan remarked, "That Qi Yushu was truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing. To think he would poison his own father!"

"Who said he poisoned him?" Chu Fei flashed a harmless, innocent smile, leaving the two women staring at him in utter confusion.
