Chapter Fifteen: Infinite Summoning of Wind Elements!
Among the many skills available to mages, summoning spells are generally considered rather lackluster. Aside from the occasional use for scouting, these abilities tend to have long cooldowns and consume a significant amount of mana, while the creatures summoned are far less powerful than the mage themselves. As a result, most mages prefer not to rely on such skills.
But Yi Shen was different from other mages.
He possessed the Heart of the Mage.
With it, he could push the potential of nearly every spell far beyond the ordinary!
Just as now, with a casual wave of his hand, a dark gray wind elemental appeared before him, as if conjured from thin air.

[Wind Elemental]

[Health: 120/120, Mana: 510/510]
[Skills: Wind Blade, Wind Shield]
[Remaining Duration: 59s]

The elemental was less than a meter high, shaped like a spinning top. Yi Shen could clearly observe the flow of elemental energy within it, and it shimmered with a faint glow. More importantly, he could sense the connection between the elemental and his own body, even catching glimpses of the elemental’s perspective, allowing him to direct its actions.
Yet at this moment, Yi Shen did not send it off to scout. Instead, he chose to continue casting spells. The description stated a cooldown of ten minutes, but the skill panel showed no usage restrictions!
That could only mean—
He could summon again!
Sure enough, after casting it once more, another dark gray wind elemental materialized before him.
“It really does allow simultaneous summons!” Yi Shen’s brows lifted in satisfaction. The Heart of the Mage’s talent could indeed extend to this ability! Although these wind elementals only inherited part of his attributes—and their actual stats were lower than he’d hoped—if he could summon several at once, quantity could compensate for their lack of quality!
Even if these wind elementals couldn’t withstand a single blow from the elite giant bear inside, three of them could at least endure three attacks.
Not only that: if he could summon three at a time, then whenever one fell, he could simply conjure another! As long as the wind elementals could penetrate the cave and inflict damage on the elite inside, there was a real chance he could bring down the elite monster solo!
...
Yi Shen stood at the mouth of a canyon passage, three wind elementals arrayed before him, all under his complete control.
According to the forum, a massive white snow bear would appear about fifty meters inside the cave. This bear was sheathed in thick fur and could unleash a roar that dealt damage; if the attack was too forceful, rocks would tumble from the ceiling, sealing off any chance of escape.
So he had no intention of entering the cave himself. After gauging the distance, he sent the three wind elementals speeding into the darkness, using them to probe the situation ahead.
The cave twisted and turned. It took more than twenty seconds for the wind elementals to reach the bear’s lair. By then, their duration was already half spent. But at last, the huge white snow bear appeared in the elementals’ hazy field of vision!
“Wind Shield!”
“Wind Blade!”
All three wind elementals cast their spells simultaneously, wrapping themselves in shields and then channeling their power to attack the white bear.
The creature was five or six meters long. Unlike an ordinary bear, it possessed retractable claws and fangs—clearly a weaponized beast.
The moment the wind elementals appeared, the bear sensed something had invaded its domain. Though this was a repeatable secret realm, the bear’s demeanor was that of a slumbering lord roused from its rest!
With a thunderous roar—before the wind blades even struck—the giant bear issued a warning.
“-32”
“-32”
“-32”
Each wind elemental took 32 points of damage at once—just a single roar had cost them a quarter of their health!
According to the forums, this bear was so tough that at least one healer was needed to defeat it; otherwise, after a few consecutive roars, parties would suffer needless casualties.
Yi Shen, however, was undaunted.
He didn’t even try to have the wind elementals dodge; he simply watched as their health dropped.
The wind blades now flew forth, striking the bear.
“-11”
“-13”
“-9”
Their combined attack barely managed to deal around thirty points of damage.
The bear lunged, its massive body hurtling forward in an instant. The three wind elementals were obliterated as their health bars were wiped clean. The bear let out another roar, as if to reassert its dominance—how dare such pitiful things enter its lair? It almost felt insulted.
...
“Not bad.” Though the wind elementals were annihilated in seconds, Yi Shen, who monitored the battle throughout, was satisfied with the results.
The giant bear had no idea there was another force controlling the wind elementals from afar. Yet Yi Shen had managed to inflict real damage. Although the amount was low, it was proof that he might be able to whittle the beast down to death!
The ten-person instance was much harder than the outside world, and the elite monsters within were formidable. Ordinary level ten monsters had only five or six hundred health, but those inside this realm had around eighteen hundred. The elite bear guarding this passage was rumored to have between twelve and thirteen thousand health.
Even with Yi Shen’s powerful skills, such a health pool would mean a protracted battle. If he tried to kill the bear himself, he doubted he could make it out alive.
Without hesitation, Yi Shen summoned three more wind elementals, positioning them apart to avoid them all being slain by a single strike.
Another wave advanced into the cave, this time unleashing eight wind blades and dealing over eighty points of damage.
“If I rely solely on wind elementals, it seems the bear can never leave its cave.” With a viable method to kill the bear now at hand, Yi Shen naturally wanted to speed up the process. As he continued testing, he also pondered ways to improve efficiency.
