Chapter 115: Moonlight Semi-Spirit Body! News of Father!
The entire world of black mist was engulfed in silence. The surrounding monsters gradually retreated, leaving only a strange flow of energy lingering in the air.
Yi Shen watched the massive structure before him in silence, finally certain that it was attempting to communicate with him.
“As an enemy, I see no reason to answer your questions,” he said.
“If you merely wish to exchange words, then at least show some sincerity instead of hiding all the time.”
Yi Shen also took control of the energy around him.
If the other side truly belonged to an intelligent race, he wouldn’t mind making contact with them. At the very least, he could learn what lay on the other side of this otherworld, and how they were connected to the "data panels" on Earth.
This time, their response was much slower, as if they were trying to comprehend the amount of information in Yi Shen’s words.
After a long while, a peculiar opening appeared in the colossal building.
From the perspective of information transmission, it seemed they wanted Yi Shen to enter.
“That’s hardly sincerity,” Yi Shen replied, “If you meant well, you would send someone out instead of making me enter an unknown area.”
Who knew what kind of deadly weapon might be lurking inside? Naturally, Yi Shen wouldn’t dare to step into such a crooked place.
Communication with this otherworldly civilization was proving troublesome, and Yi Shen was beginning to lose patience.
If it weren’t for the fact that they held some information he sought, he would have launched an attack by now.
If he slaughtered all these monsters, his attributes would likely increase significantly. Moreover, he was currently at an advantage; there was no need to waste time here.
Feeling the duration of his current Saint’s Manifestation was about to expire, Yi Shen released it again.
Dark light elements from the surroundings converged toward him, raising his attributes further as the dark light energy gathered.
Yi Shen swung his hand and struck at the sky’s curtain. The massive moonlight blade pierced the black mist, allowing a faint glow of sunset to shine through. Although the black mist quickly healed, this was a warning sent by Yi Shen.
Finally, the building on the other side shifted again, revealing an even larger opening.
From this aperture, Yi Shen saw a pale blue semi-spirit slowly drifting out. This semi-spirit was different from those he had encountered on the battlefield before; not only was its color significantly altered, but its aura was entirely distinct.
[Moonlight Spirit]
[Level: ???]
[Health: ???]
Yi Shen attempted some reconnaissance spells, but since they were mainly linked to level, he could only discern the name; the level and health remained unknown.
This blue semi-spirit did not give him a strong sense of threat.
Yi Shen reckoned it could be dealt with in one or two strikes.
The semi-spirit slowly approached, radiating a peculiar moonlight energy, which shared the same origin as the energy currently converging within Yi Shen’s body.
After reaching near Yi Shen, it seemed to transmit some information, as if inviting him to follow somewhere.
Yi Shen let it lead the way, eventually arriving at a strange elevated platform. On this platform were unique crystals, displaying various images. Soon, an eerie scene emerged within the crystals—an image reflecting Yi Shen’s own form!
The semi-spirit had merged its body with these special crystals.
“Invader, greetings,” it stammered, its voice a strange collision of tones, which struck Yi Shen as somewhat surreal.
One, the creature could actually speak; two, it could imitate his form perfectly, as if Yi Shen was conversing with his reflection in a mirror.
“From a physical standpoint, I am not the invader; you are,” Yi Shen replied.
The other side paused briefly before retorting, “You arrived in our world first. We only obtained your world’s coordinates afterward. You stole the Master’s scepter, so the Master will descend to punish you.”
Yi Shen glanced at it and snorted coldly.
“You have established a foothold in our world. To me, that makes you the outsiders. I have no desire to waste time debating this.”
Yi Shen immediately conjured several gates of blazing flame in his moonlight form, supplementing them with several rift-wind formations. These skills gleamed with a peculiar radiance under the moonlight, as if fused with the environment. The firelight shifted into a dim, eerie glow.
The other side apparently hadn’t expected Yi Shen to attack so abruptly and seemed somewhat flustered.
“We are currently at war. If you want me to cease, I need to understand what these moonlight mirror images are, and why they resemble us so closely,” Yi Shen said, pointing toward some distant moonlight mirror images. “How are they formed, or rather, where is the original body that creates these moonlight images?”
Now that communication was possible, Yi Shen prioritized inquiring about his father’s whereabouts.
Regardless of whether he was alive or dead, Yi Shen wanted answers.
The other side seemed to sense the change in Yi Shen’s emotions. After a delay of over ten seconds, the semi-spirit in the mirror responded:
“The Moonlight Messengers are anchors for dimensional information. Through them, we learn of your world’s data. Their originals are stored within the Moonlight Sanctuary.”
Yi Shen’s eyes lit up.
His father must be one of the Moonlight Messengers’ originals.
“Where is the Moonlight Sanctuary? Are all the originals dead?” Yi Shen asked.
“The Moonlight Sanctuary lies under the Master’s protection. I cannot reveal its location. Some originals have perished; others remain as anchors, retaining certain life features. If you cease your attacks, we can negotiate,” the semi-spirit replied.
They had previously communicated with other worlds and guessed that Yi Shen would want to reclaim a “hostage.”
But before the semi-spirit finished, Yi Shen raised his hand. Moonlight condensed into a sword pointed at the semi-spirit, and the surrounding forbidden spells began to ripple.
These semi-spirits seemed unaware of the current situation.
His pause was only due to curiosity; it didn’t mean they were truly negotiating on equal footing.
“This does not constitute a negotiation in my eyes,” Yi Shen shook his head. “If you refuse to release them, I will continue slaughtering until you do.”
The semi-spirit was clearly stunned, not expecting such ruthlessness.
“I need to communicate with the Master,” it said.
“I don’t have time to wait for your talks,” Yi Shen refused.
He sensed a more turbulent energy flow inside the building. Having fought his way this far, if the other side didn’t offer substantial concessions, he wouldn’t stop.
“Until we reclaim the scepter, the Master will not release the information anchors. These are the channels for communication between our worlds,” the semi-spirit explained. “My mission is to come to your world. Even if I fail, others will follow.”
“Though you have reached the rank of Saint Spirit, the Master’s will will still seek you out.”
They truly feared Yi Shen would strike again. They continued explaining, acknowledging that his strength far exceeded their initial estimates.
Without new reinforcements in the Moonlight Realm, they were unlikely to withstand Yi Shen.
“Then I need the list of the original information anchors. I want to see if the person I seek is among them. I have no interest in your scepter,” Yi Shen said.
“Very well.” This time, they agreed quickly.
After more than two minutes, a special image appeared before Yi Shen.
It was a crystal chamber filled with unique containers and flowing energies.
He was shocked to find many familiar figures inside!
Some were explorers who had disappeared long ago from the Jingmen Safe Zone, others were those who hadn’t escaped the Great Peach Blossom Wharf last time! It was clear that the Moonlight Realm’s anomaly was linked to this civilization! And his father was suspended in one of these special containers!
