Goblin Green Eruption
Karen had just sensed an opportunity, when the goblin murderer suddenly pulled this trick on him. Witnessing the bizarre scene before him, Karen finally understood why every corpse delivered by this goblin had a hole in the heart—it was all because of this very method.
The unsettling spectacle immediately cooled Karen’s burgeoning ambition.
“What is wrong with this goblin?”
Watching the goblin murderer heal his wounds in such a strange way, Karen vaguely guessed the reason for his frenzied killings of late.
“Could it be that he can strengthen himself through this method?”
While Karen pondered this, the goblin had already withdrawn his hand from the old goblin’s corpse. His hand was restored, and though the wound on his back hadn’t fully healed, it was much improved—he seemed to be finished.
Seeing this, Karen hesitated.
“Should I make a move? This creature is even stranger than anticipated, and now I’m not so confident about taking him down!”
His hesitation didn’t last long. Soon, Karen regained his resolve.
“Sigh, what good is hesitation now? If I don’t act, must I leave the future of this graveyard to fate? If I don’t seize this moment, I may not get another chance. Even if this goblin is exposed, perhaps the graveyard won’t be discovered, but what if it is? If the corpses are relocated, my graveyard will be ruined. Then, my strength might stagnate for half a year—a price I cannot afford!”
Clenching his teeth, Karen finally decided to act, ready to convert the goblin murderer into an undead.
Just as Karen prepared to turn the goblin, his gaze shifted to the corpse of the elderly goblin.
“This goblin seems different from the others—why not try converting him? If I can turn him into an undead, perhaps it will have unexpected effects!”
With that thought, Karen acted swiftly.
To his surprise, transforming the aged goblin required fifty points of territory energy—two and a half times more than a typical goblin.
Fortunately, aside from the initial transformation of the “Rotting Goblin,” Karen hadn’t spent the rest of his energy, and he still had one hundred and fifty points left—enough to carry out the task.
Hiding in the small crypt, Karen spent all his territory energy, transforming six undead in one breath.
While he waited for the transformation, Karen kept a close eye on the goblin murderer, fearful he might sense something amiss and ruin Karen’s preparations.
Luckily, the conversion of first-tier undead was silent and without any sign, so the goblin murderer had no idea that, as he dug, six undead prepared to kill him had gathered by his side.
He was in high spirits, after half a month of slaughter and being nourished by sixteen goblin hearts, his strength was nearly at the second tier.
Once he reached the second tier, he would be eligible to challenge for leadership—if he defeated the tribe’s chief, he would become the new leader.
With that power, he could lead his tribe to dominate the entire Goblin Forest!
Imagining himself as lord of the Goblin Forest, the goblin murderer—no, the goblin named Green Cap—couldn’t contain his excitement.
Yet, just as Green Cap reveled in his prospects, a sudden, sharp sound split the air.
“Not good!”
His expression changed, and instinctively he leapt aside, but he was a step too late. As he jumped, a green wind blade sliced across his leg, leaving a gruesome gash.
Worse still, the spot where he landed was right above the freshly transformed undead.
As he touched down, three “Rotting Goblins” burst from the earth, their six vicious claws tearing into Green Cap, leaving six savage wounds.
At the same time, the other three “Rotting Goblins” emerged and rushed him, giving him no chance to react, pouncing upon him and unleashing a furious assault.
Green Cap was stunned, unable to comprehend what was happening, and could only resist by instinct.
But he was facing undead; as he fought back, Green Cap realized many of his attacks were utterly ineffective.
Even when he tore flesh from his enemies, they felt no pain and did not relent, which terrified him. As he struggled with the three before him, the other three also clambered out and joined the fray.
Now, Green Cap was completely surrounded by six “Rotting Goblins.”
Watching Green Cap, trapped hopelessly among the goblins, Karen was overjoyed. He hadn’t expected the battle to go so smoothly.
“If only I knew he was so easy to deal with, I wouldn’t have hesitated.”
Karen spoke, preparing to join the fray with his undead and finish the fight. But just then, Green Cap, cornered and desperate, erupted with a sudden burst of energy.
The blood-red rune on his wounded leg reappeared, and Green Cap’s strength surged, flinging the six “Rotting Goblins” aside as he jumped up and tried to flee.
Seeing this, Karen was startled by Green Cap’s sudden outburst and quickly reacted: “No! Don’t let him escape!”
As Karen shouted, another green wind blade struck Green Cap’s back, knocking him to the ground.
Immediately, the six “Rotting Goblins,” now scattered, pounced again, pinning Green Cap beneath them.
By this point, the outcome was nearly decided.
Though Green Cap fought back ferociously, wielding his blood rune and even smashing the heads of three “Rotting Goblins,” killing them before Karen’s pained eyes, he was simply outnumbered. His blood rune’s power could not last, and Karen’s seven undead finally subdued him.
Karen waited until the fight was over and Green Cap had completely lost the will to resist, then hefted his hatchet and stepped forward...
