After hearing Mu Tianhen’s words, everyone was once again stupefied. Having a little fox display its skills—was he out of things to say? What skills could it possibly display? Charm people with its cuteness?

In fact, Gu Yiming and Huang Dahai almost wanted to laugh. Unfortunately, before they had the chance, their laughter froze in their throats.

A soft whimper came from Little White as it tilted its head, and then, as if performing a magic trick, produced a person from who knows where—a corpse, devoid of any sign of life.

With a dull thud, the body crashed to the ground, sending up clouds of dust. When everyone saw the corpse lying on its back, its clothes shredded by claws and blood still seeping from its wounds, many shivered uncontrollably and hastily stepped back.

The way this person had died was truly horrific. Except for the face, not a single part of the body remained intact—even the man’s most private parts had been torn apart, barely hanging by a thread of skin.

He appeared to be seventy or eighty years old, but was a complete stranger—certainly not someone from Shun’an City. No one recognized him or knew where he had come from.

But while others didn’t know him, Gu Yiming and Huang Dahai did. The moment they saw the corpse, any urge to laugh vanished, plunging their hearts into an icy abyss. Their faces turned ashen with fear, panic, and despair.

Mu Tianhen reached up to stroke Little White, now squatting on his shoulder, then looked at Gu Yiming and Huang Dahai and said in a calm voice, “This is the expert you hired, isn’t it? Sixth level of the Thunder Calamity Realm.”

“You…” Gu Yiming involuntarily took several steps back, staring at Mu Tianhen in shock. “How did you know? Who have you called to your aid?”

Mu Tianhen maintained his faint smile as he replied, “Call for help? Do you think everyone is like you, incapable on their own and only able to rely on others?”

“Impossible!” Gu Yiming shouted. “There’s not a single person in Shun’an City at the Thunder Calamity Realm! How could you possibly kill him? You’re lying!”

Mu Tianhen replied again, “Do you think you’re worth lying to? The only reason I haven’t killed you yet is so you can watch your family’s destruction with your own eyes.”

“This is only the beginning.”

With that, Mu Tianhen flashed forward, swiftly sealing the meridians of Gu Yiming and Huang Dahai, making even suicide impossible for them.

“Mu Tianhen!” Gu Yiming roared, “What are you going to do? If you want to kill me, then do it! I won’t even blink!”

Mu Tianhen ignored the old cur. With a wave of his hand, he ordered, “Drag them along. We start at the City Lord’s Mansion—let them watch their own clansmen die before their eyes, watch their families be destroyed!”

“Don’t touch me, get away!”
“If you want to kill me, then kill me! Don’t humiliate me!”

The two old dogs shouted and struggled as hard as they could. But now, they were weaker than ordinary people—how could they break free from a warrior’s grasp?

Thus, each was held firmly by two Mu family servants, following behind Mu Tianhen as he led the way toward the City Lord’s Mansion.

The other family members didn’t stay behind either, hurrying after them. Though afraid, they couldn’t help but want to see how Mu Tianhen would annihilate these families.

Could it really be as in the vision—utter annihilation?

Mu Tianhen wasted no time. Upon entering the City Lord’s Mansion, he began his slaughter. Regardless of age or gender, any he met was killed.

Though not a bloodthirsty maniac, he was by no means soft-hearted. For friends, he would risk his life; for enemies, he would eradicate them utterly!

They called him a demon? Then he would do what a demon does, lest the name be wasted.

As Mu Tianhen ceaselessly harvested lives, the corpses piling into mountains and blood flowing in rivers, all who came to witness were terrified out of their wits.

At that moment, everyone reached the same conclusion: Mu Tianhen must have cultivated some demonic art, becoming completely devoid of mercy.

They also warned themselves never to make an enemy of Mu Tianhen, or this would be their fate.

Not only the onlookers—even the entire Mu family was stunned by his slaughter. None had imagined their patriarch was even more terrifying than in the vision.

Mu Tianhen paid them no mind. There was a reason for his utter ruthlessness.

First, he couldn’t leave any potential threats alive; he had to uproot them completely. Second, he wanted to set an example, so all in the city would know how to behave in future.

Treading on floating corpses, wielding his longsword, staining the heavens and earth with blood.

By noon, the once bustling City Lord’s Mansion had become a mass grave—a hell on earth no one dared approach.

A light breeze carried the stench of blood, making the air almost unbearable.

Throughout it all, Gu Yiming, held captive, roared and howled again and again.

Especially when his own kin looked to him for help, only to die by Mu Tianhen’s sword before his eyes—his heart bled with pain.

Several times, Gu Yiming begged Mu Tianhen to kill him quickly, to end his torment. But Mu Tianhen paid him no mind at all.

Eventually, Gu Yiming realized his cries were useless. He squeezed his eyes shut, refusing to watch his clan be slaughtered.

But even that was denied him. One of his captors reached out and forced his eyelids open, making sure he saw every Gu clansman die, witnessed the Gu family’s annihilation.

Only when every last member of the Gu family lay dead did Mu Tianhen, sword in hand, approach Gu Yiming. With a cold smile, he said, “Does it hurt? Do you want to kill me?”

“Mu Tianhen!” Gu Yiming bellowed, “I curse you to die a wretched death! May you never rest in peace!”

“Whether I die well or not, you won’t be around to see it,” Mu Tianhen replied. “Now, let me do you a kindness and send you to join them.”

With that, Mu Tianhen raised a hand and struck Gu Yiming’s forehead.

A muffled sound—the skull shattered instantly, blood and brain matter splattering everywhere, drenching Huang Dahai, who began to wail and thrash in terror.

Mu Tianhen turned his gaze to Huang Dahai and said coolly, “Now, it’s your Huang family’s turn.”

“No!” Huang Dahai screamed. Summoning strength from who knows where, he broke free from his captors and fell to his knees.

He kowtowed to Mu Tianhen, begging for mercy, “Patriarch Mu, I beg you—spare me, spare the Huang family! If you let us live, we will serve the Mu family forever, from this generation on, never daring to betray you.”

The head of a once-prestigious family, now kneeling and begging for his life—never before had this happened in Shun’an City’s history.

But everyone understood. In such circumstances, anyone would do the same.

So long as the family survived, anything was possible. Even temporary submission was nothing to be ashamed of.

However, Mu Tianhen was unmoved. Striding forward toward the Huang family estate, his thunderous voice echoed in every ear:

“Once these families are wiped out, kill the man and woman in seclusion! Xue’er, Ancestor, take people and guard the Gu and Huang estates—do not let anyone enter or leave!”
