Chapter 91: Irrefutable

“Ow!” Black Ze was sent flying by the blow, crashing dazedly to the ground.

“Lin Qiu, you damned bastard!” Black Ze sat up, clutching his chest and glaring at Lin Qiu through gritted teeth.

“You know what? I knew you were no good. Trying to take advantage of me? You’re the one who’s a dog—your whole family’s dogs.”

Lin Qiu cursed under his breath.

That little brat had actually tried to curry favor. Was Lin Qiu a dog?

“No fun.”

Black Ze yawned, then flopped weakly back onto the ground.

“I’m exhausted. Leave me alone. Just let that monster find me, ravage me, bully me!”

He closed his eyes, looking utterly resigned to life.

Seeing his dead-dog, unafraid-of-boiling-water attitude, Lin Qiu was so annoyed he almost laughed.

How could there be such an absurd creature?

He crouched down, reached out with his right hand into empty air, and condensed moisture into a tiny water sphere, which he flung straight onto the faces of Xu Bing, Meng Mei, Lei Long, and the Earth Master, Ji Heng.

The water was a little cold, and the moment it burst on their faces, it surged into their mouths and noses.

In an instant, all four jolted upright and coughed violently.

“Lin Qiu, I don’t want to live anymore!” Xu Bing coughed so hard it seemed to tear at her very lungs. Seeing Lin Qiu crouched aside watching the show, she knew he was the culprit, and she instantly looked ready to pull out a sword and disembowel herself.

“Here. Go ahead and fulfill your wish.”

Lin Qiu reached out and seized something from the air; a halberd materialized and he tossed it before Xu Bing with a gracious gesture.

“I’ll really do it, you know!”

Xu Bing grabbed the halberd and pressed it against her stomach, threatening him.

“Then do it, do it. I’m waiting to see intestines all over the ground!”

“Ugh!”

Xu Bing gagged, then glared at Lin Qiu viciously. “You did that on purpose to disgust me. I’ll kill you!”

She controlled the halberd and hacked at Lin Qiu.

Lin Qiu didn’t even move.

The blade of the halberd struck his head head-on, yet nothing happened at all; instead, it slowly dissolved into starlight and vanished.

After all, the weapon had been condensed from one of his avatars.

Once the avatar was shattered, all that remained was a weapon transformed from its own essence. Trying to hurt Lin Qiu with it was a joke.

“Lin Qiu, you’re despicable!”

Xu Bing merely felt her hand go empty, and the halberd vanished.

Her face went pale with fury, while Lin Qiu’s expression darkened.

“System, this little tart seems pretty full of energy, doesn’t she?”

“Replying to the host: under the enhancement skill, and in conjunction with the contract, half of the power has been transferred to this woman.”

“I…”

Lin Qiu’s words caught in his throat.

Just as he had guessed, the benefits had been split off and taken by this woman again.

“Do you know that if it weren’t for this damned contract, I’d have thrown you into a river and drowned you already? Because you’re a thief, and you stole my energy again.”

Lin Qiu threatened her with a dark face.

“Hm?” Xu Bing also gave a surprised sound then, and under Lin Qiu’s reminder, she discovered that her physical condition seemed to have grown much stronger.

Even the injuries she had suffered had healed completely.

She sprang up from the ground, snatched at the air with her right hand, and the halberd appeared in her grasp.

The next second, Lin Qiu cursed, “Damn it!”

Then he too turned into starlight, swirling around Xu Bing and forming a mighty, imposing suit of armor.

“Hahaha!”

Xu Bing threw her head back and laughed. “Lin Qiu, even you have this day. I’m going to steal your power, and I’m going to trample you underfoot.”

With the halberd in hand, Xu Bing hacked and slashed at her own armor, sending out bursts of dazzling sparks.

“My own damn mother!”

Lin Qiu howled in misery. This woman was a devil!

“System, I want my avatar back!”

As Lin Qiu shrieked beneath the blows, he hurried to contact the system.

“Since the avatar has been destroyed, it can be condensed again with a single thought from the host. After all, it is part of your body and cannot truly disappear.”

“Oh, right!”

Lin Qiu cried out in delight.

His avatar had been shattered by destiny, but it had originally been split off from himself.

Even if it was beaten to death, as long as he willed it, it could still be condensed again.

“You little wench!”

Lin Qiu let out a savage grin, then vanished once more into starlight.

Xu Bing wielded the halberd and went on making the motions of disemboweling herself.

Xu Bing shouted wildly, while the halberd in her hand scraped brilliant sparks across the armor over her abdomen.

“Xu Bing, you old hag, you’re ruthless!”

Lin Qiu’s figure condensed three meters away from her.

“Hm?”

Xu Bing looked at Lin Qiu, then at the armor on her body, and her expression changed. “So you really were hiding a trick. Liu Changfeng was right—you’re not an ordinary beast.”

She stared at him intently.

Liu Changfeng had once told her that Lin Qiu was no ordinary beast.

Ordinary beasts, once fused into armor, would become a protective shell upon the body, enhancing combat strength.

But what about Lin Qiu?

After she armored herself, she transformed, yes—but he showed no effect at all.

She had not believed it before; now, however, she truly agreed with Liu Changfeng’s words.

Just now, when the armor had been shattered by destiny, this fellow had merely spat up a little blood and suffered no real harm.

“I… I…”

Lin Qiu burst into loud, miserable tears.

This life of his was thoroughly ruined.

It was like a customer yelling at a shopkeeper: “Have you paid the tuition for the child’s cram school? The support money for your parents—did you pay it? Have you finished the mortgage and car loan? If not, what right do you have to be lazy? What right do you have not to take clients?”

Xu Bing’s threat had the very same effect.

It left Lin Qiu speechless, with no way to argue back.

Xu Bing gave a cold laugh and gently traced a hand across Lin Qiu’s face. “Protect your sister properly, and only then will you have the chance to live in comfort and luxury.”
