A barrier the color of earth appeared instantly above Xu Han’s head!

Boom!

Thunder crashed down like a giant serpent, striking the barrier with tremendous force. Debris scattered in all directions, and fine cracks spread across the surface, yet it remained unbroken, steadfast as ever.

Lei Ming’s expression shifted; he abruptly looked up. From above, a fierce tiger descended with a roar, landing before Xu Han.

The Earth-Shattering Tiger King turned to glance at the small cub beside Xu Han. The killing intent in its eyes grew even stronger. It whipped its head toward Lei Ming, the murderous aura around it nearly tangible. “Human, was it you who hurt my child?”

Lei Ming stared at the Tiger King, his face dark. “Earth-Shattering Tiger King, this is between me and that boy. It has nothing to do with you.”

“Step aside, or I’ll kill you too!”

The Tiger King snorted coldly, a hint of disdain flickering in its gaze. “You think you can kill me?”

“Today, I’ll execute you to avenge my child!”

It raised its head and let out a deafening roar. A terrifying pressure swept toward Lei Ming.

“Rock Collapse!”

The Tiger King stomped its paw; the ground split open at once. Massive boulders, each the size of a grown man, rose and shot toward Lei Ming.

Lei Ming’s expression changed slightly.

“Lightning Blade!”

Thunder gathered in his palm. He swept his hand, and lightning turned into a blade of pure energy, slashing toward the incoming rocks.

Sizzle!

Lightning flashed—rocks shattered, debris flying everywhere.

The Tiger King narrowed its eyes.

“Sandstorm!”

A furious gale swept through, gathering all the debris into its vortex, howling as it rushed at Lei Ming. Wherever the sandstorm passed, the world seemed transformed—an endless expanse of yellow. Countless grains of sand became razor-sharp blades, attacking Lei Ming.

Lei Ming’s face grew grim. This Tiger King was truly worthy of being a third-tier golden-level leader. Its power was such that unless several fourth-tier experts joined forces, there was little hope of gaining any advantage.

Meanwhile, inside the carriage, all those present witnessed the unfolding chaos.

Their faces paled in terror.

“Heavens, what’s happening? That tiger’s roar and this sandstorm—it’s terrifying!”

“Dear God, I don’t want to die here!”

“It’s over! Are the beasts attacking? Someone save us!”

Shui Lingyao’s brows knitted tightly. “Such frightening pressure… Is there a powerful battle at the front of the train?”

Shui Xuelan clenched her greatsword, lips pressed together.

“I think… Xu Han is at the front…”

“Let’s go see!”

Shui Lingyao grabbed her staff and rose, striding toward the front. Shui Xuelan followed closely behind.

...

Lei Ming gazed at the swirling sand, his eyes growing ever more solemn.

“It seems I have no choice but to risk everything now.”

He slowly raised both hands, eyes fixed on the sky.

Thunder rumbled overhead. Arcs of dark violet electricity danced across the clouds.

“Furious Thunder!”

Lei Ming’s low roar echoed through the heavens.

Boom!

A colossal bolt of lightning crashed down toward Lei Ming, enveloping him. His eyes became dark purple, his aura rising sharply.

Xu Han activated the Eye of Insight to examine Lei Ming’s information.

[Name: Lei Ming]
[Race: Human]
[Class: B-rank Furious Thunder Mage]
[Level: 91]
[Skills: Heavenly Thunder Summon LV.9, Furious Thunder LV.12, Thunder Mirage LV.12, Lightning Blade LV.13, Shadow of Rapid Thunder LV.8, Lightning Sphere LV.15]

Xu Han’s gaze grew heavy. Lei Ming’s level had risen by ten, all his skills had advanced by six ranks. This was no minor increase—it was almost on par with fifth-tier masters.

Even the Tiger King eyed Lei Ming with caution. It could sense a tangible threat from him.

The sandstorm howled, engulfing Lei Ming entirely.

Next moment, lightning surged.

A resonant voice rang out.

“Lightning Blade!”

Within the sandstorm, dazzling light erupted.

Slice!

It cut through like a blade—the sandstorm was split in two, a vacuum zone forcibly carved out in the middle.

Lei Ming stood calmly in the void, his purple eyes gleaming.

“You’ve forced me to use this move, Earth-Shattering Tiger King. Today, this place shall be your grave.”

“Shadow of Rapid Thunder!”

Arcs of electricity danced across his body. Wrapped in them, he transformed into a deep purple sphere of light, rushing toward the Tiger King.

The Tiger King had no room to dodge; it stomped its paw.

“Giant Rock Barrier!”

A thick wall of stone, several meters high, rose from the earth.

Boom!

Lei Ming pierced through the massive rock wall in an instant. The thunder struck the Tiger King, sending it flying dozens of meters before it crashed to the ground.

The Shui sisters, arriving at the locomotive, saw several members of the escort team slumped on the ground.

“You… why are you sitting here?”

One of the guards looked up at them, speaking in a low voice. “The battle outside… we can’t intervene.”

Shui Lingyao peered through the window. She saw the Earth-Shattering Tiger King lying on the ground.

Her face changed. “That’s… the golden-level leader from East Sea City, the Earth-Shattering Tiger King?!”

The guard nodded. “It seems it came to protect that young man, Xu Han.”

“Protect?!”

The Shui sisters’ expressions became strange. They had never heard of a leader-level beast helping a human.

The guard explained everything to them.

Shui Lingyao’s face changed again. “You’re saying the president of East Sea City’s Adventurers Guild, Lei Ming, is a member of the Abyss Church?!”

The guard’s face was bleak; he nodded numbly.

“Now even that Tiger King can’t stand against him. Everything is over.”

“When the Tiger King is dead, we’ll be next…”

Shui Lingyao leaned at the window, gazing outside.

Lei Ming, wreathed in thunder, strode step by step toward Xu Han.

“Xu Han, that tiger is barely alive now.”

“Next, it’s your turn.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll soon send them to accompany you.”

Lei Ming slowly raised his hand, pointing his sword-like fingers toward the sky. A terrifying thunderous pressure gathered above.

Xu Han and Lei Ming stared at each other, eyes cold as ice.

Lei Ming sneered. “I know you’re unwilling to accept this, but it’s too late for regrets!”

“Prepare to die! Heavenly Thunder Summon!”

He swung his hand.

Thunder roared, crashing down toward Xu Han’s head.

A pitch-black vortex appeared above Xu Han, swallowing the lightning bolt.

The vortex swelled and churned furiously. Though it could absorb any attack, the power of this thunder was immense—even for it, absorption was a strain.

Lei Ming narrowed his eyes.

“Looks like one isn’t enough. Then let’s try a second!”

He prepared to lift his hand again—only to discover that his body would not move!
