Xu Han activated his Eye of Appraisal to examine the stats of these wolf-shaped beasts.

Name: Gale Wolf
Race: Wolf
Level: 20
Skill 1: Gale LV.1 (Greatly increases movement and attack speed upon use; cooldown: 2 minutes)
Skill 2: Bloodthirst LV.1 (Passive; when a Gale Wolf takes damage, it becomes ferocious and bloodthirsty, greatly increasing its attack power. The wolf pack also coordinates attacks.)

Level 20 Gale Wolves.

Not impressive in the least, hardly worth his attention!

Xu Han narrowed his eyes, the corners of his lips tilting upward in a faint smile.

With a casual motion at his waist, a crimson dagger appeared in his hand.

The moment the dagger met his palm, a searing heat surged through him, like holding a ball of flame.

“Furious Dragon Unfurls Its Wings!”

Xu Han growled low.

Blazing flames leapt from the dagger, and the image of a small molten drake materialized along its length.

He hurled the dagger forcefully at the pack of Gale Wolves.

A resounding dragon’s roar split the air!

A scorching dragon of fire swept toward the wolves with a thunderous roar.

Boom!

Wherever the fire dragon passed, the Gale Wolves fell in heaps, their corpses strewn across the ground.

All slain in a single blow!

Xu Han strode forward, retrieved the Furious Dragon’s Fang, and casually inspected the fallen wolves. None had dropped any equipment.

He sliced off several chunks of meat, tucked them into his spatial ring, and continued on his way.

……

By midday, Xu Han had dispatched over a dozen beasts, and his experience bar had made impressive gains.

He delved deeper into the heart of Woodgrove Town.

Rumor had it that deep within Woodgrove Town lurked a gold-tier boss.

This golden-tier boss was not only flanked by two silver-tier lieutenants but surrounded by countless elite beasts.

Its combat prowess was terrifying.

It was said that even the three top beast-hunting guilds of East Sea City had once joined forces to take it down, only to suffer crushing defeat and heavy casualties.

One guild master was even swallowed whole by the golden beast, and his guild vanished from the world thereafter.

Since then, no one had dared to provoke that beast again.

And yet, Xu Han’s target was precisely that golden-tier boss!

If he could slay such a creature, the spoils would be substantial.

Xu Han wandered through Woodgrove Town, the sounds of battle echoing around him—human screams, beastly roars.

Then, abrupt silence.

Someone had fallen victim to a beast’s attack.

Xu Han had long since grown accustomed to such things.

His gaze swept the surroundings, searching for traces of beasts.

Suddenly, he spotted a paw print ten meters away.

A wolf’s footprint.

Yet it was larger than a human hand by a considerable margin.

Xu Han stroked his chin.

If the paw was this large, how massive must the wolf itself be?

It could very well be a boss-level beast!

The thought invigorated him.

A boss-level beast meant high rewards!

As for the risk?

To Xu Han, it was negligible.

With his current stats, even an eighty-level beast—discounting any level suppression—would fall to a single punch.

Let alone these mere level-twenty beasts.

He rose and tracked the direction of the prints, following them step by step.

The tracks led out of Woodgrove Town.

Xu Han followed closely.

He noticed the number of beasts in the area had dropped significantly.

He was closing in on the boss.

At a crossroads, the tracks abruptly vanished.

Xu Han stopped and looked around, but found no further traces.

“The footprints end here? Could this be the boss’s lair?”

His tone was as calm as if chatting with an old friend.

Anyone else, venturing alone into a boss beast’s den, would have been trembling with fear.

Suddenly, Xu Han sensed a gaze upon him.

He instinctively looked up.

A massive wolf, the size of a tiger, stood atop a three-story building.

Its ghostly green eyes fixed intently on him.

Xu Han activated his Eye of Appraisal to assess the beast.

Name: Gale Wolf King (Bronze-tier Boss)
Race: Wolf
Level: 25
Skill 1: Gale LV.1 (Greatly increases movement and attack speed upon use; cooldown: 2 minutes)
Skill 2: Bloodthirst LV.1 (Passive; when a Gale Wolf takes damage, it becomes ferocious and bloodthirsty, greatly increasing its attack power. The wolf pack also coordinates attacks.)
Skill 3: Wind Blade LV.1 (Turns the gale into three lethal blades to strike enemies; cooldown: 2 minutes)
Skill 4: Tempest LV.1 (Unleashes a violent wind that shreds everything in its path; cooldown: 10 minutes)

Xu Han’s eyes gleamed.

A boss-level beast, as expected!

And bronze-tier at that!

There would surely be good loot.

A system notification sounded.

“Congratulations, Host. Eye of Appraisal has reached LV.2.”

Finally, the skill had leveled up.

Xu Han opened his skill panel.

Sure enough, Eye of Appraisal had upgraded, and its description had changed.

Eye of Appraisal LV.2: Reveals target’s stats, with a 5% chance to identify the target’s weak point. Usable on targets up to 10 levels higher than the user. Cooldown: 10 seconds.

The Gale Wolf King’s eyes burned with rage.

A mere human dared intrude upon its territory alone!

Such insolence!

It threw back its head and howled, the wolf’s cry reverberating down the street.

In the next instant, a shuffling sound arose all around—the scraping of claws against the ground.

Xu Han glanced over.

A dozen wolves, each the size of a leopard, burst from the abandoned buildings.

They fixed their eyes on Xu Han, low growls issuing from their throats, saliva dripping, ready to attack at any moment.

Yet Xu Han’s expression remained unchanged.

With a flick of his wrist, the Furious Dragon’s Fang appeared in his grip.

The Gale Wolf King’s gaze was locked on Xu Han.

It hadn’t expected this human to show no fear—and even make ready for battle!

He must be torn to pieces!

Such was the price of provocation.

The Wolf King growled low.

Several elite Gale Wolves snarled and leapt at Xu Han.

His eyes sharpened.

He moved.

His form flashed, lithe as a swimming fish, easily breaking through the encirclement.

The Furious Dragon’s Fang swept out in a blaze of heat, slicing cleanly through a wolf’s throat.

A spurt of blood, and the Gale Wolf’s head nearly severed, its body crashing to the ground.

Its eyes stared wide in confusion, unable to understand how this human had struck.

Xu Han turned his gaze to the remaining elite wolves.

His own eyes began to glow red.

Two of the elite Gale Wolves’ eyes also turned blood-red. Their jaws opened, and they lunged at their own companions.

The other wolves, caught off guard by this unexpected betrayal, had no time to react. One was bitten through the neck, blood gushing as it collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
