Bai Chuwei’s expression shifted slightly, and she changed the subject. “Let me see the phone.”

The sales assistant looked disappointed; it was clear this beautiful customer had little interest in Duan Xiuqi.

Still, she took out the phone and handed it to Bai Chuwei.

Bai Chuwei turned it on decisively. Her delicate, slender fingers danced nimbly across the curved screen while the sales assistant, maintaining her professional demeanor, began an enthusiastic introduction to the phone’s features.

Duan Feihan sat across from Bai Chuwei, his back straight as a pine, quietly sipping the warm water in front of him. His bearing was both distinguished and refined.

Resting her chin on her left hand, Bai Chuwei switched the phone to camera mode. She tossed her soft, wavy hair over her shoulder, and with a crisp click, took a photo—charming and full of allure.

She shifted her pose, her beautiful eyes focused on the screen, red lips slightly pursed, making her look even more radiant and enticing, with a touch of playful charm.

She was completely unaware that, for a fleeting moment, the man across from her paused as he drank, his dark eyes as deep as the sea, his gaze settling intently on her.

Even the sales assistant was mesmerized. Using only the phone’s default camera, without any beauty filters, every shot turned out flawless—she could be sweet or cool, and both suited her perfectly.

“I’ll take this one,” Bai Chuwei said, evidently quite satisfied with the phone.

The man’s dark eyes remained fixed on her, as if he hadn’t heard a word.

Bai Chuwei arched an eyebrow, her smile lingering as she looked at Duan Feihan. Her voice was both soft and alluring, curling playfully at the end, “Mr. Duan, please pay for it.”

Duan Feihan’s long lashes fluttered, his eyes finally focusing. He cleared his throat gently and said to the sales assistant, “I’ll pay.”

The sales assistant snapped out of her daze and quickly asked, “Would you prefer to pay by card or QR code? Please, this way.”

Duan Feihan rose to follow her to the register, while Bai Chuwei remained seated, playing with her new phone. The first thing she did was remove the SIM card from Bai Yinyin’s old phone and insert it into the new one. Then she cheerfully downloaded a few essential apps from the app store and registered a new WeChat account.

“Miss Bai, here’s your little gift.”

Bai Chuwei looked up to see Duan Feihan returning, a small paper bag in hand—the complimentary gift that came with the phone.

She leaned over for a look. “A water cup? Thank you, Mr. Duan, for buying me the phone. This cup will be my gift to you, then. No need to thank me.”

The cup was ceramic, shaped like a chubby cartoon hamster—quite adorable. Unfortunately, Bai Chuwei had a strong urge to punch anything resembling a hamster, so she couldn’t take it home.

The sales assistant, there to hand over the receipt, was left speechless.

Was that even allowed?

Duan Feihan’s lips quirked in a faint smile. “Thank you, Miss Bai.”

Bai Chuwei felt not the slightest embarrassment. Just for the acupuncture session she’d performed for his family’s old master, ten of these Moyun 10pro phones wouldn’t be enough to repay her!

After a moment’s thoughtful pause, Duan Feihan spoke at a measured pace. “For convenience, may I have your contact information?”

Bai Chuwei recited her number. Moments later, a friend request popped up on her new WeChat, which she promptly accepted.

After purchasing the new phone, Duan Feihan personally drove her home. The black Rolls-Royce stopped a short distance from the Bai family’s villa.

Bai Chuwei remained in the passenger seat, not getting out. Smiling sweetly, she said, “Mr. Duan, your old man once offended me. To be honest, I’d rather not save him.”

Her slender, fair fingers unfastened her seatbelt. She turned, leaning closer to the man beside her, her face drawing near his striking, flawless features. “But for your sake, I will. Just don’t forget the agreement between us.”
