Plate 125: The Conception Attribute – Illustration of Joyful Union
Everything Sang Sang could imagine was reflected in her paintings, and what she hadn't thought of, her innate abilities helped complete.
This work is effective on all mammalian creatures, with one caveat: it only works on those below the Profound Tier. After all, once a being reaches the Profound Tier or higher, the cells forming their body have undergone sublimation; she has never studied them and currently lacks the ability to alter them.
For those below the Profound Tier, as long as they are not born with innate defects, conception should pose no problem. If they truly possess innate defects, then one must rely on the Law of Creation to cultivate an egg from nothing using singular genes, and then proceed to incubate it.
Across the eight-hundred-mile Sea of Joy, as depicted in "Clear Sky Joyous Union," clouds steamed and mists glowed. Golden vapors swirled, colorful butterflies danced gracefully, and pairs of orioles and swallows lingered. Once Sang Sang finished, she submitted the painting to the Main Brain for inspection. The result was yellow; although not entirely satisfactory, it remained within the safety margin and was barely usable.
Sang Sang set "Clear Sky Joyous Union" aside and, using similar attributes, redrew a piece titled "Cloud Mountain Misty Rain." The cloud mountain refers naturally to the forest of joy where pollen drifts like clouds. As the mountain breeze brushes the treetops, the permeating pollen dyes the mist and rain gold, with every raindrop transformed by energy attached to the Law.
Sang Sang checked the time and found over an hour remained. She took out another sheet of paper—this time not a massive scroll several meters wide, but a small painting plaque three inches high and two inches wide.
The plaque was small, so she chose a smaller brush. The scenery depicted was a mountain with no visible path, water flowing below, and no boat upon the water. Added to it were two lines: "In the mountain of books, diligence is the path; in the sea of learning, hardship is the boat." Although the scene was simple, painting it was no easier than the massive joy paintings. Her long-unused "Nine-Fold Painting Technique" reappeared, with laws layered and intertwined within the work, numbering in the hundreds.
The most prominent attributes were calm, rationality, and decisiveness. Following these were the beloved "Saintess Aura," along with positive laws such as diligence, hard work, persistence, and upward striving. Of course, signature laws like Space-Time were not omitted, and the "panacea" laws that boost internal energy activity and promote soul evolution were also included, along with those frequently used by holy practitioners, such as healing, restoration, and purification.
With so many laws, each stacked upon the other, layer after layer—and not merely scattered about, but fused into a single whole—it was only thanks to her innate ability automatically adjusting and supplementing the rune arrays that it was completed.
"Main Brain, scan."
A green light illuminated. Sang Sang held the small plaque, a sweet smile curling her lips. She took a decorative knot from her jade pendant, threaded the plaque, and tied it to her waist.
Sang Sang patted the little plaque: "Ready, Saintess of the Hundred Flowers. I hope you remain vigilant at all times; do not give me the chance to synchronize with your soul fluctuations."
Dark works are not necessarily dangerous or evil; they can be positive depending on who uses them.
Sang Sang put away all her works, opened the door, and went next door.
The neighboring room was Xiao Jin's workshop and collection room. The floor was lavishly covered with a thick layer of colorful energy stones, and the ceiling resembled a spiderweb, from which hung space containers of all sizes. These containers were of varying colors, making one's eyes blur after a long while.
Sang Sang pushed aside the bead-curtain-like strings of space containers and reached the center of the room. Hanging there were several "world paintings." These were custom-made for Xiao Jin; unlike other world paintings that require independent sealing, the paintings Xiao Jin used as his residence had to be connected to the outside world, otherwise, there would be latency when accessing the Star Web—a point crucial to Xiao Jin.
One of the paintings was modeled after the main temple complex. Xiao Jin was lying on the dome of the main temple hall within the painting. Before Sang Sang could approach and knock on the shell of the world painting, he flipped over and flew out.
"Sang Sang, everyone who has condensed their origin felt the space-time oscillation yesterday. There are tens of millions of discussion threads on the internal temple network. Bishop Anthony’s subordinate priests formed an investigation team and issued a statement, claiming that you and the Heavenly Emperor forgot to notify the Main Brain to set up isolation while testing a new artifact. Although some are dissatisfied, most have accepted this explanation."
Xiao Jin landed on Sang Sang's shoulder, kicking his little feet. The light in his eyes still indicated he was working, but he split off a strand of data to chat with her.
"Sena was waiting outside the studio yesterday noon for you. He told me secretly that he brought you a collection from Bishop Anthony—the Profound-tier artifact, the 'Destruction Spear.' It can contain space-time power and cause space-time collapse. It's very powerful!"
"The Law Artifact, Destruction Spear." Sang Sang raised an eyebrow. "Is this news from Xiao Na again?"
Xiao Jin shook his head. "It was sent to me by Uncle Kane's personal AI, Annie. Yours is the Destruction Spear; the Heavenly Emperor's 'Chronos Disk' can stabilize space-time. I've sent the specific data to you both; remember to look at it."
Sang Sang turned her head to nuzzle him, teasing, "You've even hooked up with Uncle Kane's personal AI? Impressive!"
Xiao Jin covered his face, hopping from one foot to the other. "I didn't hook up! I formed an 'Intelligent Life Mutual Aid Society.' Annie is a member, and I am the president. The president has privileges, and they have a responsibility to provide news related to you. There are members in the Saintess of the Hundred Flowers' Hundred Flower Palace, and one of them is even the personal maid of the Saintess." As he spoke, Xiao Jin let go of his face, brimming with excitement.
"I’ve been reassigned. Now I only hold a nominal post in the Information Collection Department, mainly responsible for identifying and repairing secret techniques for the 'Star Pavilion.' I can choose one secret technique as part of my monthly salary, and I can choose any law for my year-end bonus."
"Neither you nor the Heavenly Emperor are short on secret techniques, so last month I chose the Spirit Cultivation Secret Art of the Soul Clan. It allows one to form an energy body by cultivating the soul alone without a physical form, which is perfect for ghosts. I've already sent it to Jun Lin. You still have two ghosts in slumber; with the Spirit Cultivation Secret Art, they won't fear energy collisions or consciousness dissipation, and they can still retain their previous stealth advantages..."
Xiao Jin kept muttering until they entered the living room, where he stopped, still clearly having more to say, and converted the rest into text to send to Sang Sang.
Sena, naturally, wouldn't just sit and wait; he was using his personal terminal to process documents. He didn't look up when Sang Sang entered, quickly pausing his work. When Sang Sang reached him, he stood up, bowed, and stated his purpose. He had indeed come to deliver the Destruction Spear.
Artifacts are the life-bound weapons left behind by those who have condensed an origin star core upon their fall. They contain laws and are labeled according to the rank their masters held during their lifetimes.
The Destruction Spear was only Profound-tier and not considered overly precious, but it had a unique attribute: its properties changed based on the energy infused into it. Ordinary water or fire power would only give it moderate strength, but if replaced with supreme forces like time, space, or devouring, its power would be vastly different. If infused with space-time power, it could even trigger space-time oscillations and shatter space-time itself.
The Chronos Disk was an artifact nurtured by the origin of time. Although only at the peak of the Profound-tier, to many, it surpassed even peak Origin-tier artifacts. It could even stabilize collapsing space-time and was once known as the strongest defense.
"The Destruction Spear can be weak or strong; use it with caution," Sena warned, then added, "His Holiness Anthony has issued an edict: you must report to the Hundred Flower Palace before the end of the day. Handle any remaining matters as quickly as possible."
