The magic cauldron instantly emitted a burst of violet light. Wisps of white mist appeared in midair, drifting above the cauldron before being utterly absorbed in an instant.
“Though the quality leaves much to be desired, there’s strength in numbers. Great Demon, I do feel my power has grown somewhat.”
“That’s good,” Ji Yin replied with a gentle smile and a nod.

Upon returning to the Ji estate, Ji Yin noticed that Young Master Ji’s carriage had just arrived at the gates as well.
She was truly surprised that Young Master Ji had intervened to save her.
“Young Master…” Wuyan lifted the carriage curtain, gazing in Ji Yin’s direction, as if wanting to speak but holding back.
He really couldn’t fathom why his master would bother saving this good-for-nothing, Ji Yin, today.
But what did it matter why he did it! Ji Yin hurried over to the carriage.
Wuyan’s guard went up at once.
“Are you afraid I’ll eat your young master alive?”
“Seventh Young Master Ji, have some self-respect!” Wuyan shot her a look as if facing a scoundrel.
Suddenly, Ji Yin darted forward, grabbing Young Master Ji’s hand. “Look at these hands—so fair and delicate, they even smell nice.”
“You!” Wuyan’s murderous intent was about to break free! His hand went to the sword at his waist, and with a swift sound, cold steel flashed from its sheath!

“I didn’t even touch you, so what’s got you so worked up? Look, your young master isn’t even resisting!”
Wuyan: …
Ji Yin suddenly felt a numbness in her wrist; her body lost control and toppled backward, landing squarely on the steps!
“Damn—” She sprang to her feet and forced herself to swallow her retort. She shot Young Master Ji a glare. “Hmph!” She twisted her waist and strode into the Ji estate.
Wuyan: …
He wished he could draw his broadsword and hack this worthless Seventh Young Master into eight pieces!
Suddenly, Ji Yin felt a sharp pain in her ankle, her body pitching forward uncontrollably.
Before she could get up, a pair of black leather boots appeared before her eyes. Instinctively, she reached out and grabbed Young Master Ji’s sleeve. The next instant, her back tightened as Young Master Ji hoisted her up.
Ji Yin flailed her little hands in protest. In that moment, she looked exactly like a turtle being carried by its shell.
Young Master Ji held Ji Yin with one hand, the other clasped behind his back, striding calmly toward the estate.
The old steward, upon witnessing this spectacle, rushed toward the main hall in alarm. Something terrible had happened! He had to fetch reinforcements for the Seventh Young Master at once!
Shuang’er came running and was shocked by what she saw! The young maid planted herself in front of Young Master Ji, blocking his way. “Let go of my young master at once!”
Silently, Ji Yin gave Shuang’er a thumbs-up—loyal to her master, and commendably brave!
“Young Master, didn’t you return with the Third Young Master?” Shuang’er had searched anxiously all over the residence for Ji Yin, only to see her brought back in such a fashion by Young Master Ji.

“Young Master Ji, put me down this instant!” Ji Yin felt this posture was utterly undignified and shouted in anger.
Young Master Ji seemed not to hear her, carrying her on without pause.
Shuang’er realized an invisible force was preventing her from moving any closer; she could only shout in frustration, “Young master! Young master!”
It was only upon reaching his own quarters that Young Master Ji finally released Ji Yin, who fell sprawled onto the ground in the shape of a starfish.
This humiliation—she would one day repay it tenfold!
As soon as she tried to stand, a current of energy swirled around her, holding her completely immobile.
“Improper conduct. Stand here for one hour as punishment,” Young Master Ji declared, striding into the hall.
Wuyan watched Ji Yin’s sorry state with a gloating smile.
“Out of my sight!” Ji Yin bellowed.
Wuyan’s grin froze; he shot her a glare and, humming a jaunty tune, strolled into the hall.
