The Demon Cauldron radiated a purple-gold light, hovering in mid-air.
A white ape looked up at the object suspended above. It lifted a massive boulder and hurled it toward the cauldron. Instantly, the cauldron transformed into a beam of light and vanished into Ji Yin’s body.
"Great Demon, get up! Only by staying alive can you have a man! Think of young master Xuan Yuanji; even if you don't marry him, just sleeping with him once would make this life worthwhile, right?"
Ji Yin jerked her head up. "If I win, can I sleep with Xuan Yuanji?"
"Yes!"
Ji Yin stood up immediately, fueled by a strength she didn't know she possessed!
...
"Xiao Qi!"
"Young Master Seven!"
Urgent calls echoed from a distance.
The white ape that had just attacked Ji Yin exchanged a glance with the others behind it, and the group suddenly bolted in a different direction.
"Awoo-ooo-ooo!" A series of howls erupted all around!
The sound seemed capable of traveling a thousand miles, deafening and thunderous! Ji Yin quickly raised her hands to cover her ears. The flicker of fighting spirit she had just ignited vanished instantly, and she collapsed back to the ground.

Suddenly, the white ape charged at Ji Yin again!
Ji Yin had no strength left to resist. She felt as if ten thousand ants were gnawing at her body. She slumped limply onto the grass, her grip loosening on the fan she held.
"Great Demon! Look out!"
Suddenly, Ji Yin’s body floated into mid-air, and the white ape lunged at empty space.
Where Ji Yin had been lying, the ape’s claws gouged a deep trench into the ground. Had those claws struck her, she surely would have been torn in two.
Now, clad in her magnificent Phoenix Dance Immortal Dress, Ji Yin hovered in the air. The white ape bared its fangs, staring up at her.
...
Ji Shaofeng and Wu Yan were searching anxiously for Ji Yin when they heard a howl. A massive, white-furred figure surged from the surroundings and charged straight at them!
Wu Yan immediately drew his broadsword and slashed at the white ape before him.
"Wu Yan, I will hold off this ape; you go find Xiao Qi!"
"Understood!" Wu Yan nodded, but before he could take a step, another white ape sprang from nowhere and pounced on him.
He raised his blade to block, but the ape gripped the weapon directly, its razor-sharp claws completely unfazed by the steel edge.
Have all the monsters in this place become spirits? This creature possessed such formidable soul power!

"We meant no harm; we merely stumbled into your territory. Please, calm down—we do not wish to fight," Ji Shaofeng attempted to communicate with the apes using the language of beasts.
"Awoo!" The white ape let out a cry.
Ji Shaofeng frowned. "You say we share an irreconcilable blood feud? How is that possible? We have only just entered this place and are meeting for the first time! Is there some misunderstanding?"
"Awoo!"
Wu Yan was struggling to withstand the ape's strength. "Eldest Young Master, what is it saying?"
"It says we killed their prince!"
"Killed their prince? I'd actually like to kill one of these things!"
"To be precise, it wasn't us—it was Xiao Qi."
"Young Master Seven?!" Wu Yan exerted a sudden burst of force, knocking the ape back a few paces. He turned to Ji Shaofeng and asked, "Can this be reconciled?"
"I fear not! I suspect Xiao Qi is in their hands right now, and she is in grave danger."
"Then to hell with it! Charge through and save her!"
No sooner had Wu Yan finished speaking than another white ape landed directly in front of him.
