Chapter 127: Whose Skin Is Thicker!
Xuanyuan Ji bypassed Ji Yin and walked forward.
Ji Yin felt secretly triumphant. Had Xuanyuan Ji finally conceded defeat to her? He dared to stand his ground against her! She didn’t even know how thick her own skin was!
In reality, Xuanyuan Ji was merely afraid that if he looked at her for even one more second, he would lose control and tear her clothes off right there. Yet, the person in question was still basking in her own self-satisfaction.
Xuanyuan Ji led Ji Yin toward the direction where Ji Yun and his group had headed. They hadn't walked long before they found them resting, not having traveled very far.
"Young Master Xuanyuan, where did you two go just now? Why did you vanish?" Ji Yun walked over immediately and asked.
"I went in another direction to scout the situation," Xuanyuan Ji replied softly.
Ji Yin thought to herself: *He clearly went into the small woods.*
"Did you discover anything, Young Master Xuanyuan? Is there a way to break this? So many peach trees suddenly grew out of nowhere; I wonder what the cause was."
"This is an illusion; anything is possible here."
Ji Yin thought: *I’ll just watch you silently as you spout nonsense with a straight face.*
"I am going to attempt to dispel this illusion."
Ji Yin immediately looked up at Xuanyuan Ji. If he could break it, why didn't he say so sooner?!
Suddenly, several talismans appeared in Xuanyuan Ji’s hand. They looked no different from the ones Ji Yin used. He flicked his wrist, and they flew out, darting toward the four cardinal directions.
Suddenly, a golden radiance appeared in the sky, crisscrossing like a woven celestial net.
"Break!"
A surge of intense soul power erupted from Xuanyuan Ji, and the surrounding peach trees vanished instantly.
A sound of collapse followed, and Ji Yin felt the ground beneath her feet give way.
*That bastard Xuanyuan Ji! He really could break this illusion! If he could break it, why did he stay in there for so long? He’s absolutely insane!*
A strong arm wrapped firmly around her waist, pulling her tightly into his embrace. Xuanyuan Ji held Ji Yin as he landed steadily upon the altar.
The others around them struggled to keep their balance, some falling flat on their faces.
"Are we out?"
"We're out! We're out! Everyone, look!"
"This is the altar from when we first entered!"
Ji Yin noticed it too. She was the only one who had leaped onto the altar, and it now looked different than before. She immediately looked up at the flag, only to see it scorched by fire and tattered.
The group scrambled to their feet and descended from the altar.
Ji Yin looked at Mo Chuan, who was being supported by Ji Yun, and asked hurriedly, "Young Master Mo, are you alright?"
"I am fine, thank you for your concern, Young Master Ji."
"As long as you're fine, that's good, that's good," Ji Yin repeated. However, she noticed Mo Chuan’s complexion was very poor.
"Wait until I meet up with my elder brother, and I will have him examine you."
"Many thanks, Seventh Young Master."
"No need to be so formal with me. Go and get some rest."
Xuanyuan Ji walked toward the altar. Ji Yin had barely spoken two words to Mo Chuan before she was forcibly dragged away by him.
"This trip was truly a waste of time. We were almost trapped, and we didn't find a single treasure," Ji Yin couldn't help but grumble.
Xuanyuan Ji studied the patterns on the altar carefully. When he broke the illusion, the altar had sustained damage, and some parts were crumbling. He suddenly realized there was something beneath the altar.
Chu Yu and Du Wei were also watching the altar closely. They had previously hoped to find news of the Mountain and River Seal here. Seeing Xuanyuan Ji staring fixedly at the altar, they quietly drew closer.
Suddenly, Xuanyuan Ji struck the altar with his palm.
Abruptly, the chains began to rattle, as if someone were tugging at them.
Ji Yin immediately turned around, staring at the strange phenomenon before her.
*There’s actually something hidden underneath?*
